  1. Programming Auto Parking brake using FORScan

No ones figured this out yet? My truck has a button on the top left of the reverse camera screen to enable the automatic parking brake, the problem is it resets every key cycle. Surely there must be a line in Forscan to change to recall previous settings and not have to re enable this feature...
  2. Mandated kill switchs in trucks for 2026

This. I can’t count the people I’ve known or known of that got off of DUIs with no real consequence, or people that were still behind the wheel after multiple DUIs. And then those people continue the same behavior and we wonder why there is a problem. If the government is doing this because...
  3. Ramcharger: How (Can?) Ford Respond - A Discussion

The road damage part is probably the biggest thing people are missing IMO. There is no escaping the 4th power law. One Silverado EV does as much pavement damage as SIX regular F-150s. And who’s going to end up paying for all the road repairs? You get the point right with the batteries being the...
  4. Ramcharger: How (Can?) Ford Respond - A Discussion

I like Ram's idea, I think with current battery technology and charger infrastructure the EREV approach makes far more sense for truck use. However I would prefer a truck with an even smaller battery, as previously mentioned the Ramcharger will likely be both heavy and pricey. I think something...
  5. New truck with 4,000 General manager miles

I went through this when I bought my F150 as I was looking at one that was a demo. At least with Ford the warranty start is based on the in service date, so if the truck was used as a demo starting in April then 6 months of the warranty would already be gone
  6. Trailer Not Connected

The search function on this forum is great. Had the exact same problem (trailer RH brake light not functional despite LH brake light and RH signal working, truck did not recognize trailer disconnect, hyperflash with no trailer). Just like @Hank573 I had just installed the factory TBC. When I set...

  8. Stealership screwed up again…

Do the right side steering wheel controls work? If so I would think they must have removed the wheel and forgot to plug the switch block back in. These trucks use CAN switches so the entire switch block communicates the individual commands to the SCCM. There’s a plastic lever on the end of the...
  9. Manual Transmission Swap

Anything is possible with enough time and money. The real question should be is it worth it to you? Whatever dollar/time estimate you have in your head will likely be double to triple in reality. I've done similar projects and found that to be consistent.
  10. WTF Ford?!!! $5,600 for taillight replacement?!!

Where are you finding OEM XL taillights for $150? I wanted to buy a spare pair, looked them up and saw closer to $400 each.
  11. ⚠️ Recall: Electronic Parking Brake Unintended Activation -- affects 870K F-150 (from 2021-23 model years w/ single exhaust system)

Got my recall notice in the mail. Crawled under the truck just to find the special OEM zip tie was already there
  12. 2022 F150 Rear Axle exploded... Ford tech said "3rd one this week"

You never know, strange things seem to happen in mechanic shops. I'll go a year without seeing a particular problem and then BAM! I'll literally get 3 the same week. So I'll then stock up on that part just for it to sit on the shelf another year. So it goes
  13. 3rd Brakelight/Cargo light trouble

Those are electrical connections you can't glue them. You would have to solder them back to the circuit board, you can probably find a soldering iron and solder at the hardware store. The one connector looks like it may have taken some of the PCB with it which would complicate the repair and may...
  14. Adding Pro Backup Assist Via Forscan

Do you have the trailer brake controller? This function is in the trailer module, trucks without the TBC just have a dummy relay module. Not sure if you were to install the Ford accessory TBC module if it also has the pro backup circuit integrated. I did get the part number on both modules when...
  15. 2023 STX SuperCab Upgrades

Well I haven't even had my truck for 2 months and the modification itch is already here. I'll start this off with what I have already done and then what I'm planning/need advice for. Truck Info: 2023 F150 STX SuperCab 2.7l 4x2; Optioned with 3.73 locking rear axle, 36 gallon fuel tank, front...
  16. Buy-back approved. Any advice much appreciated.

As someone who is a professional technician this isn't necessarily true. There aren't many people who would argue carburetors are more reliable than fuel injection, for example. These mysterious electrical issues that stump multiple dealers would likely be simple fixes to anyone...
  17. How-To: fix your Headlight and fog light aim!

Just did the same mods to my truck. The fog lights were pointed straight at the ground from the factory, absolutely useless, however my headlights were actually aimed too HIGH. The cutoff was above eye level on some smaller SUVs, and that was UNloaded. After reaiming I still wanted to improve...
  18. Am I the only one that thinks Ford needs to improve front grill designs?

Totally agree. I could care less about how attractive the grill design is as long as it isn't large enough to swallow a small car. The lower hood height was just about the only reason I bought an F-150. My past 3 trucks have all been GMC, and I fully intended to buy a 23 Sierra, however on the...
  19. Guesstimating Hitch Weight

It depends how the weight is distributed. If the propane tank goes up front nearly all of it’s weight will be tongue weight, whereas placing items behind the axles will actually decrease your tongue weight (think about a seesaw). It’s all a function of how far past the axles in either direction...
  20. FORScan for xl/stx

As long as you don’t go into the as built sections it’s hard to mess it up. You just go into the module, select what you want to change and choose the option you want from a menu. Just back up first so if something goes wrong you can restore the original settings.
