Didn't bother me much before. Now it bothers me after seeing this thread. It was more pronounced in my 2021 though and the whole thing started getting white spots.

A couple of weeks ago I brought my 2021 xlt in for a minor repair. The rubber, called a cowl, not sure on the spelling had a raised area near my antenna. They ordered a new cowl and I now have the same thing. Service said it was a loopty loo, not kidding and it happens on all the trucks and there was nothing more they could do. So why did they replace it in the first place? Anyway, wondering if anyone else has this and did they get it fixed? Repaired pic attached.
Have you tried loosening and reseating the cowl yourself? It looks from the picture like the gasket at the rear that fits against the windshield has curled under instead of lying flat against the glass, causing the rear to stick and the panel to bow.

The cowl is easy to reseat. Open the hood and pop the clips in the front. Then you can reach under the cowl (blindly unfortunately) and then pop the pins at the rear of the cowl near the glass. Once the cowl is loose, make sure the seal is uncurled and resting flat against the glass, like a squeegee. Then reseat the cowl by pushing down on the back (nearest the glass) until you hear the pins engage. Then refasten the front clips.

I did not have this bowing myself, but I had to get up under the cowl to replace a washer nozzle and this is how I loosened and reseated it.

Mine is completely down tight against the windshield and Has the loopy doo. I can push it down and fix it easily but if I look away for two seconds it pops back up. I haven't tried to do anything permanent. I noticed it a few weeks ago and forgot about it until this thread reignited my obcession.

I think the clips that hold it on are just going to put it right back where it was before if you take it off...and even if they don't the antenna won't let it shift outboard. The antenna on mine is already squished against the inboard edge of the hole in the cowl/seal. It looked to me like the shape was just warped. There's no structure to that material and I'm not surprised it is hard to control dimensionally when molding it.

Yeah, if it’s permanently deformed then there might not be a lot you can do. Couldn’t hurt to make sure that the rear pins are properly seated. If they are, put a weight on it every night and see if you can reform it.

I also looked at it again and edited just as you were replying...the antenna hole stops it from moving any further outboard to help it tuck under the fender better.

You obviously knew where I was going with this. I was hoping it was deformed because of misinstallation. But you’ve ruled that out.

Well, if you ever need to change a washer nozzle you’re all set.

I read a thread a while ago from 2021 where people were claiming about the white spots...... Months or maybe a year later many came back to report the white spots went away on their own. Maybe some residue on it from manufacturing that needs to wear away?

Thanks for the threads!! I used a little water and rubbed on the white spots for a second and it looked like they might come off, but I didn’t spend any real time messing with it.
