Perhaps I misread, or perhaps I've missed an obvious thing but in reading several threads about various electrical issues lately, I've seen a few mentions about locking the doors as part of the fix.

Just in passing, not a hard, clear instruction.

Any time I'm out, the truck gets locked but at home, in a locked garage, never.

Is it real, or internet voodoo?

I normally always lock my truck. The shop is about 40 yards from the house. It’s also just been habit from my old truck being outside.

Any rate, I did have an update fail a few months ago. I did have an update fail a few months ago. The only thing I could figure was the truck was unlocked. The next night, I made sure to lock the doors and the update completed.

I lock inside the garage. What happens if you forget to shut the garage door?

My parents forgot to shut the garage door one time overnight and raccoons got to a bunch of stored/dry foods on shelves. Oh, I forgot to mention all 3 of their cars got rummaged through and change, phone chargers and pill bottles went missing.

If I leave the garage door open for ten minutes, someone will be rummaging inside it. Same with a car parked on the street overnight. This is New York these days. No consequences to bad behavior and no right to protect your physical property from "those in need".

Everyone may have different and legitimate (or not) security concerns but the question was whether locking the doors, has anything to do with the electrical function of the truck.

Re OTAs, I'm seldom the first but I have received them, both at home and on the road.

I know some require the truck to be off but don't recall anything about locking the doors as a requirement. If I'm wrong, please point me to a source.
