you know there is a setting in the truck to deploy running boards out and they stay out. It will auto retract when you decide to drive off after done washing the truck....i use it every time i wash my truck.

You can also hit the "kick switch" on the running board. It's handy if you're already outside of the truck. I use it in parking lots all the time for as little door ding protection.

My running boards are not OEM. They're Amp Research Smart series. I can remotely deploy them for a set amount of time on my phone but it's just easier to open the door for a second.

I kinda understand what you mean. You say you want the doors to be unlocked. You also say you don’t want them to lock. What does it matter if they’re locked or unlocked?

All I’m saying is, if you locked the doors and move the fob at least 20 feet away, the water will not affect the locking mechanism from the spray of water.
Yet you replied with that, and that's NOT what OP asked and you felt like doubling down.

WTF, Man?! ?

Thanks, But I want them to stay UNLOCKED. I did try unlocking the truck and leaving the fog in the truck and in the house. Didn't make any difference.
Then do the opposite, unlock and move everything 20' plus away from your truck. I wash mine every week and only have issues with the key in my pocket.
