Just took it for the first spin, and this is absolutely insane! Feels like a completely different truck. Smooth shifts and instant power. I had it in 2H and normal mode and I could feel and hear the turbos spool up loudly.

Def feel like I am going to want the etune shjortly.

I installed my 91-93 Performance tune this morning, but want try the 91-93 Tow tune.

Can't seem to get the Livernois device back into the "underhood" mode so I can flash the Tow Tune.

What is the process?

Figured it out. Have to plug it back into the OBD2 port, select which tune you want, then it is ready to flash.

Bob thanks for posting this. I have the same problem.

when you get to that step in the cab, are you progressing past the point where it says you will have to connect directly to the ecu with the adapter cable? Or are you powering down before advancing?

Connect to the OBD2 port with Ignition ON (not running), and select Performance Tunes, the tune you want to apply, and get to the screen where it asks you to make sure it is connected to the LME cable. At that point, power everything down, and you can proceed with the underhood work.

Thanks Bob, I’ve done that. I’m still stuck not able to upload the tune.

I appear to be stuck in 'in cab' mode and not able to go into 'under hood' mode.
When I am in the cab, I get the prompt to connect to the ECU with the adapter cable. At that time, I am not clicking continue, and I am turning the truck off.

After waiting for the running boards to retract, I pull the three ECU connectors, and hook up the adapter cable. Then I use the jumper cables to power on the mycalibrator tool.

when I click on the tune options I get the ‘turn ignition on do not start message’. At that point I just back out.

I just sent an email to Livernois

Happy to hear you’re liking the kit! We are finally getting our Tremor tuned this week. We’ve been slacking on it. So many installs. Never enough time ?

Not sure if this will fix your issue, but here's a great video showing the overall process.

Thanks esk

that’s how I know to stop and wait for tech.

you’ll notice in the video he doesn’t go back into the cab after the program. In the written instructions it tells you to go back in the cab.

I believe I am stuck ‘in cab’ mode possibly because I followed the written instructions

Yea, when I went to apply my tune. I had to go into the cab, turn the truck to on (accessory mode) hit programming > apply tune > select the tune, then after that had to go back under the hood to do the rest.

I just ordered the e-boost tune today, and hope to get and apply that soon. This thing definitely cranks out smiles per gallon :)

Livernois took care of me pretty quick today. So while in the cab hooked up to OBD , you have to advance past the point where it ask you to go direct to the ECU, which is confusing In my opinion.

that said, you cannot program your truck from the OBD so there is no harm to Advance pass the message. This is how you return to under the hood mode.

And yes, this thing screams now even being cautious with the new shift points. After doing a test run I did a second test run with speed it’s up to 45 mph for the eco. Definitely the best of both worlds:

I have a 23 PB and when I contacted Livernois they said I have to drive the truck to their location and 1,100 extra is needed to install the tune. I see some guys here are doing this from the comfort of their on garages. What am I missing here?

Don't quote me on this, but I think I saw it discussed previously that the 23+ model years employ some type of "encryption" on the ECU that makes flashing it beyond the scope of the common consumer, thus Livernois wants to do it to ensure it is done right.

Someone please chime in if I'm incorrect.

Assuming you are correct, what happens if I want to place it back to stuck? Do I have to drive it back to them?!

I installed my 91-93 Performance tune this morning, but want try the 91-93 Tow tune.

Can't seem to get the Livernois device back into the "underhood" mode so I can flash the Tow Tune.

What is the process?

What differences have you noticed running the 91-93 Tow Tune?

I have the Livernois 91-93 tune. My truck has stock sized tires, it gets nothing but 93 Octane Costco fuel, and it has 21K total miles.

I'm in Austin and this past Saturday it was 107' and going up a fairly steep grade for about half a mile with cruise control engaged at 55mph the truck downshifted to 8th gear and proceeded to have pretty audible knock, then it threw a code/ flashed up 'have engine serviced', I tapped the brakes and sort of coasted over the top. Upon a restart it was as if nothing happened.

MPG dropped instantly so it clearly pulled timing over the next couple of hundred miles.

It's my opinion that the tune, combined with the heat, combined with the transmission not really downshifting aggressively enough for only going 55mph up that steep of a grade, led to the engine knocking.

Possibly Livernois should make some adjustments to the tune for these circumstances as it's clearly too close to the edge under some circumstances? More knock retard when intake temps are this high? Maybe an extra downshift?

So now I'm curious if the tow tune might make the downshift schedule a bit more aggressive to hopefully prevent this from occurring again.
