Hey all,

I have co-pilot assist 2.0 (lane centering with ten second reminder, not blue cruise) and had a problem where it would turn off after a few hours of driving. I brought it to the dealer for this and another continued issue with the truck not turning off when using the generator, and the squeek sound from the heat exchanger. Anyways, dealer said 'that problem was caused by an update' and we went ahead and fixed it. (And they said it's not under warranty , but they waived the fee for that service). So, it's kind of hard to test this given the parameters of driving for hours. But I have been turning it on for shorter trips to see if anything changed. It did. The system said 'not available' after about 20mins of driving now.

Does anyone know of this ford 'update' that causes this, and the subsequent update to fix it? or was this just a bs move on the steelership?

Co-pilot assist 2.0 (message occurs when trying to re-enable, lane centering. Adaptive cruise still works in this mode).

active is BC, assist is the hands-on version of it.

What's shutting off?

Not sure about the lane centering because I didn't go out of town last week, however, I did lose full electric driving for 3 days after last week's update. It said "engine on due to cold engine temp", even after it was completely warm. On the third day with no hybrid function, I started thinking about scheduling an appointment, but thankfully evrything returned to normal and has been fine since.

I see I have another update scheduled for the morning to take care of the trailer brake recall. We'll see how that goes.

Camera is required for that. Since it happened on a long trip did you hit a bug in front of camera?

Clarified my original post just now. The lane centering of the steering is shutting off, for no apparent reason. Same highway. Same visibility, ac on, no moisture on the glass in front of the camera)

I bet you had too many warnings so it shut it down.
The only way to turn it back on is to stop the truck, and power off. I don’t know if needs a power off or just a park setting to reset. I have always power cycle the start stop switch to reset it.

if that was the case, if actually starts slowing the truck down if you ignore the wheel input. I don’t think there is a number of ‘wheel input’ reminders before it crashes the system and turns off.

I have noticed that sort of behaviour after an update before as well. But there were no ‘obvious’ updates I knew of before this happened.

I’ve taken the truck on multiple 12+ hrs trips since 2021. If I get too many warnings from not looking straight ahead and goes into the red bongs it turned off the system until I restarted the truck.
I am pretty sure it was due to “excessive” warnings. Non the less it was extremely inconvenient and annoying. I have 750 mile range and literally go until I need gas then this BS happened and I have to pull into the shoulder to restart the truck

Lately my lane centering pings between far right and far left - on certain roads it will wonder to the right then wonder to the left as if I have been drinking and driving. I have to shut it off most of the time.

Can recalibrate it with good marked roads and Forscan or FDRS.

I will check into recalibrating it ... it used to work flawlessly, but then ??? Forscan kind of scares me, I have the OBII cable and have tried to use it in the past (changing high beams to bambi and getting actual temperature numbers to read on the dash guages) but I feel like I am one click away from making the truck a brick!

Dealer can do if you don't believe you can. I expect they would charge money to do it. I don't think you can brick the truck but you do need a laptop with you on the road. There was a thread here a while back about the ping pong effect and they said it cured it after calibration.
