I got error messages popping up this morning about the blind spot and rear cross-traffic features not working so looked to see whether an OTA update had happened last night. Sure enough.
Ford F-150 OTA 2.8.1 Caused BLIS Error 565BE13B-6D78-4DB3-86DB-CDB30D77DD70

I don’t see anybody else mentioning that anything happened with the ProTrailer Backup Assist with 2.8.1 so that was surprising. Also hope that it didn’t break that because it’s already set up. Aaaand, don’t see that it changed any options for setting up the PTBUA.

But worried about the BLIS and rear cross-traffic errors. My app shows:
Ford F-150 OTA 2.8.1 Caused BLIS Error 51983819-BDCD-4F21-831D-C51BBF79F528

Ford F-150 OTA 2.8.1 Caused BLIS Error 79E2FC8F-C9A5-45D6-9902-712845C06C1E

Ford F-150 OTA 2.8.1 Caused BLIS Error C08D1C84-6542-49C1-9E33-A45BC9016636

Has anybody else seen these problems? is my 2.8.1 different than anybody else’s? Please tell me that I can do something besides go back to my clueless dealer.

I am also experiencing these issues recently (3-4 days ago). My cross traffic alert and blis are not functioning. Upon starting the vehicle and putting it in gear I get the warnings that pop up saying there is an error with the cross traffic alert and blis system and they do not function. The orange light on the dash remains lit showing the systems as having an error. My app also shows the same blis and cross traffic alert as above. I have not done anything to my truck and have not had any updates. My truck is only 3 weeks old and there is only 700 miles on it so as soon as I get a chance I will be taking it to the dealership to see what they have to say.

@BascoNate22 I just got my truck back from the dealership today. They fixed the dash warnings. They said I needed a sensor assembly
Ford F-150 OTA 2.8.1 Caused BLIS Error 092BF6DF-080E-4A52-87AE-D51EFB178FF2
. I find it hard to believe that that part would have failed at the exact time of getting that update but I guess it could be.

@Steyreo Thanks for the update. I am going to try and take mine in sometime this week and we will see what their diagnosis is. If they seem to have trouble finding the issue I will let them know about the sensor assembly you mentioned. I appreciate the info.

@BascoNate22 , please let me know what happens. Sucks to have to go back into the dealer at 700 miles. I hope you get this resolved quickly.

@Steyreo Well I managed to get my truck in yesterday and they were able to fix the issues. Upon performing the initial diagnostic test they found a couple codes to deal with. There was a bad/faulty connection with the blis sensor in the LH taillight assembly which solved one of the dtc’s. There was apparently another bad/faulty connection with the IPMA which solved another dtc. Lastly, after fixing those two issues and narrowing down the dtc’s to just one they performed 360 camera alignment to fix the remaining issue.

Wow, surprising that the cause was determined to be something different. And makes me worried that they didn’t do the camera alignment on mine.
Glad you got that fixed relatively quickly!
