With my 2012 lariat I could lock my keys in the truck and unlock with the outside key pad. My 2024 Lariat with the key pad won't lock with the keys in, I try the inside door lock and the key pad. Can anyone tell help me out.

2 easy options. Take the battery out of a spare key and hide it. Use the cupholder function to start the vehicle. Or, get a faraday bag and put your key in it. Hide it. The truck won’t recognize a key in the vehicle and you can use the keypad to lock and unlock truck. Truck won’t start by push of the button until you remove the key from the faraday bag or use the cupholder trick.

I locked mine in my '98 at auto zone this morning; does that count?
?

They apparently fell on the floor as I was picking up the power steering pump assembly and pulley tool for my '99 Deville.

Fortunately, I keep a spare key in my wallet, as it's about a 1.5 mile walk home.

(and what are these "power locks" you speak of?)

No issues in my 23. If it is something they changed in 24 maybe you could de-activate in forscan?

It works on my ‘24. Just like it did on my 21 and 18 plus my expeditions. Press the two. Bottom buttons simultaneously on the keypad. My 24 was built in July.

+3 for my 2023.

The FOB is sorta huge, so it’s great to leave it in the truck whenever I want. And yes, I can pull up Ford Pass and do the unlock, but I’m happy enough to use the keypad. It’s little features like this that make me like truck more.

I just did this with my 24' XLT. I close the door and press the two bottom keypad buttons together.

Thanks that worked, on my 2012 I didn't have to do that

Thanks for mentioning this! I've had my 2024 XLT for a week and today wanted to lock everything in it including the key because I was going to float down a river and didn't want to risk having something happen to it. Was driving me nuts that it wouldn't stay locked.

I knew there had to be a trick like this because I remember by dad's 1982 Lincoln Mark VI had a keypad that you could lock/unlock. I think pressing the last two keys was exactly how the Lincoln worked too...LOL.
