Somehow I'm convinced that even though I had to schedule a Colonoscapy today, I'm still having a better day than some.

Sometimes you just gotta let it go. You know, move on. :)

I have less understanding of what this guy is attempting to argue now than I did before I read all of his posts. He showed up to a internet "location" which tends to collect failure reports, claimed that there are numerous failures which have somehow evaded this forum as well as the other major F150 forum, provided some kind of cell phone picture of a computer screen showing either another forum or an online conversation (?) as evidence of this, and then ignored all of the other arguments put forth.

There are bits and pieces of useful info here, like the CFD clutch issues that I wasn't aware of, but as far as I can tell the poster that has been driving the recent discussion has no evidence to support his claims.

" I have never rebuilt a tranny or engine on anything even with 330k miles, so. O I would never factor a product being poorly designed or failing to perform. "

I don't understand what this means.

You're making assumptions. All of the bolts that are thrown away per the manual are on backorder.

You do realize that there are transmissions in non-hybrid trucks right? You also realize that most dealerships, regardless of brand, are still backed up for appointments? If the transmission failure rate was truly as bad as you say, there is zero chance there would be no forum traffic on it somewhere. There have been transmission posts here (and elsewhere) but no where near the volume your suggesting, more on the order of maybe 1-2 per quarter, and not necessarily hybrid specific. You can claim whatever narrative you want, but you're missing all the data to substantiate it.

The 3/4 floating axle has been problematic for sure, but I think the biggest issue has been the 12V batteries. I have only anecdotal evidence, but I think Ford either purchased a bad batch of batteries and/or let them sit too long during Covid while awaiting chips etc.
The PB highlights the issue because of its unique charging algorithm. If you’re battery is already suffering, don’t put it in a PB and expect it to improve lol. The ICE trucks hammer away with a traditional alternator and are unburdened by a complex DC/DC “smart” battery maintenance system. Consequently, marginal batteries go unnoticed more often with ICE F150s while the PBs expose them.
There you go Sports. PBs eat AGMs.

HA! Well the colonoscopy is actually not as bad as drinking the liquid lead and crapping toothpaste for a week.

The only difference is that HV containing vehicles requires a tech that is cleared for work on it. Otherwise the PB's trans is the same. Better tech management can result in increased throughput.

Ford is ridiculous, on pure EV vehicles, only an EV tech can work on the door of an EV despite it containing no HV components. It's really ridiculous.

Hey guys,
I have already ordered my truck (5.0 V8) however it has not been scheduled for production yet and I’m strongly considering changing to the Hybrid motor. I’ve watched various videos on the topic but not sure I’m sold just yet on the MPG increase. I would really appreciate your opinions on hybrid vs 5.0? I would also be curious if anyone else did an ROI on going with the hybrid engine? I’m estimating roughly 18,400 miles at 24 MPG at $3 per gallon as the ROI for the upgrade.
if you are buying it for the mpg boost you will be sad. I bought it for the tech and the 7.2kw...the small mileage boost is a bonus. I live in a flat area just north of Houston. My commute to work is all stop light traffic, i have about 15 miles of that kind of driving (for the members in HTown, its FM1960 from Lake Houston to the Bush Airport). I usually average 25 mpg with 6 of the 15 miles being electric miles. I had a 2018 5.0 which netted me around 15mpg for the same drive. I will say though the 5.0 mixed with the 3.31 i would get way better highway mileage at 75mph. the Powerboost drinks the gas at 75+ mph.
