Do you know if similar information exists for Lincolns? I just bought a new Lincoln Nautilus. While it came with 4 years of Blue Cruise, I'd love to be able to use my Comma 3x, but can't find any solid info as to whether or not the newer Lincolns are also affected by encrypted canbus.

They will track the Ford equivalent. So for a Nautilus check the status of a Ford Edge.

Hint, you won't find it listed. No one has tested the new edge yet. If you DM me your VIN, I'll try to see if it has TRON from a parts list, if I can't, then I'll walk you through testing it with your Comma3X.

Well then, BOOOO...but I suspected this would be the case. Guess I'll have to settle for Blue Cruise...at least it is free for 4 years. And thanks Alan.

But, as much as I would have loved to have the Comma....I LOVE this car. The 48" screen (pillar to pillar) is pretty awesome. First Lincoln I've ever owned...heck, only been in one once before.

Yesterday when I started my truck there was a message that I needed wifi in order for updates. First time I ever saw that. I pushed skip.
Im on bluepilot 2.something and dont know what would happen if I allowed it.

I have a data Sim chip installed with valid service and its been a minute since my 3x has connected to it. That's something I need to get help with from comma people. If it had been working would my 3x had been updated? I dont want any of the new DM software. Im perfectly happy with things the way they are.

No it’s not just the APIM it’s the whole network that has encrypted communications.

I did some research since my question. I have a better understanding of how the encryption works.
Sucks that I will never be able to maintenance anything newer or even do performance mods. Won't be able to do brake jobs.

Wait, WHAAAATTTT. I guess I really need some education. It was one thing that the encryption made the use of Comma 3x impossible, but now everything DYI will be eliminated but for things requiring zero communication to the truck's brains? Need to replace a bulb? Nope? No brake jobs? ETC< ETC< ? Can this be true? Hell, will oil changes even be possible?

I think things are being misinterpreted. And I would suggest that if we want to discuss such topics, we open a TRON thread. This thread already has a ton of data for new users to read through without rabbit holes on tangent topics.

Can you elaborate? Does it reset every time you reboot the truck? Does it never allow you to change?

I reset device tapping on screen, enter custom URL ending in …bp-4.0, it fully completes software upgrade including safety training and defaults to Tomb Raider. Select is grayed out and clicking on “refresh” model list does nothing.

I realized I’ve been driving around with Tomb Raider (And increased ping ponging) since upgrading awhile back.
