Intelligent Cruis sign recognition not working message

I have gotten the same error message. Talked to Ford Engineer and I am taking the truck to a dealer over Christmas Break for some diagnostics. Also, be careful ... intelligent cruise control seems to like to read weight signs and adjust your speed. For example, approaching a bridge that says there is a 35-ton limit, the intelligent cruise control will slow my truck from an interstate speed of 75 to 35. This tends to cause near collisions with semi-trucks and other cars that don't expect you to slow down. Also, scares the heck out of me.

Has anybody received this message when using Cruise Control? It's still picking up the speed limit signs but not adjusting the speed as it should. Does anybody know which camera picks up the speed limit signs?

Ive had same but more often adaptive not available. Sometimes restart helps . I have several computer errors . Sadly i think my truck has software problems for several systems and may be destined for lemon like behavior. Ford says update

I had it occur a week ago Saturday. I haven't used the cruise since but I received ota 2.1.1 since. Maybe that fixed it.

Same issue here. Thought it might be obscured camera because that is often the problem with similar messages in my Tesla. But apparently it is software per above. We're driving buggy iphones folks.

This is odd - I was literally having this conversation with my son this weekend! There is an intersection near my home at which this happens EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. In all honesty, I don't suspect it to be an issue with the truck per se (or even carplay specifically vs. just cellular interference since I'm always streaming audio), but I'm also at a loss as to what could be the cause.

There are apartment complexes on 3 of the four corners of the intersection, and a small dentist office on the fourth. Nothing else at all that would indicate any source of interference.

What’s truly bizarre to me is that nothing else is affected, cell service, streaming audio, gps, etc. The CarPlay simply fails and disconnects.

Just got home from the dealer where they preformed TSB 21-2249 and camera alignment, suppose to be the fix, so far so good.

Happened to me… cleaned the windshield and didn’t happen since. Try cleaning with wipers or quick swipe of the glass outside where the camera is next to rear view? Or maybe I just got lucky?

Android auto drops out at the same spot every day I drop my kids off at school There is a water tower with a bunch of antennas on it. Some inference because of it.

I started having this issue about a week ago. I got OTA 1.6 back in late Sept or early Oct and everything for the intelligent cruise and sign recognition was turned on and operating properly for 3 months.

Yesterday I finally got got the 1.7.1 update after leaving the truck on so it could download. Auto update when it was turned off didn’t seem to be working. After about 30 minutes and 3GB of data download, it all seemed to stop, so I shut it off and went inside.

About 30 minutes later got the Ford Pass message that 1.7.1 had been applied. Took it out to see if speed sign recognition was working and it wasn’t. checked the menus to make sure settings hadn’t changed and found Speed Sign Recognition grayed out. I tried changing the cruise mode to normal and SSR became available which wasn’t right As I think it requires Intelligent Cruise to work. When I selected SSR, it took me to the Speed Warning menu, so was now linked to the wrong menu item. Switched to Adaptive Cruise and it did the same thing, back to SSR and it grayed out again…. So something in 1.7.1 is messed up it seems…. Not sure if I’ll get 2.1.1 anytime soon to see if it fixes this issue. Hopefully it will come soon as the dealer is way backed up to look at this to see if there is anything else going on.

I also noticed that the latest updates wiped out all of my saved navigation points and radio presets. That isn’t a big deal and kind of expected since Sync was also updated.

What PowerUP OTA version is everyone running that are having this SSR issue? I was at 1.6 with no issue since late September, and now after the 1.7.1 upgrade over the weekend, SSR is grayed out... I'm just curious to see if it has any correlation to the 1.7.1 update which seems to have various potential problems based on this site and other forum site posts.
