This was an issue early on but does anyone know if they fixed it properly in the new trucks coming out . I know it was used to insulate the cabin as a heat shield and sound barrier. So I was wondering on the new trucks did they keep in or did they just remove it from the build?

Pretty sure it was moved into the cab on newer builds, under the carpet.

Mine is a April 2022 build and the insulation pretty much fell off and was barely hanging on and was on top the driveshaft. I pulled it off and haven't gone yet to Ford regarding this issue. I don't believe it's a big deal.

When this issue 1st started cropping up, I was reading horror stories here about guys having their trucks grounded for months because the drive shafts are so delicate that the insulation would rub a groove that would render your truck dangerous to drive.
And of course... Ford didn't have replacement drive shafts!

So in a panic, I climbed under my truck and was relieved to find that the offending insulation doesn't reach the drive shaft on a RCSB.

Mine was starting to droop, but wasn't contacting anything yet. So I epoxied it to the sheet metal, took less than 10 minutes. It is never going anywhere now.

My 2021 powerboost is not part of this recall. I randomly got under truck over the weekend and found this... no sure how but maybe rock hit?

No vibrations. Wonder if I can get this covered under recall or warranty.

Ouch... Downside to having aluminum prop shafts.

Not a cheap part to fix if not covered...

One piece shafts run between $350-525, the two-pice shafts are $800..

I ordered the ML3Z-4602-AF part which is 1 piece. $400 shipping to Cali from Oregan and taxes included.

Confusing thing is there's another part ML3Z-4602-AB which is for powerboost with MAX Tow package but for 141 wheelbase. My truck is 145 wb with MaX tow.
