Same here, I stand corrected.

Just FYI our OE 275/65R18 Goodyear Wrangler Territory ATs have neither a "P' nor an "LT" prefix, indicating that they are subject to the (yet another) ISO Metric (E.T.R.T.O.) rating system?

Granted, for purposes of this discussion that seems to be essentially comparable to the "P" system insofar as pressure matters.
Yeah but they do clearly say, standard load.

I would do the chalk test with the trailer connected and fully loaded. Starting at sticker air pressure and would adjust as needed. Maxing out at max tire PSI rating. If the tire is over inflated a sticker setting I would drop air pressure. I have LT tires and door sticker is 41 PSI.

I like the chalk test. Simple and seemingly, bullet proof.

Thats sorta why I'm surprised seeing so many complain about the Goodyears. I think they do very well.

Among the complaints was low lifespan. Mine have a fuzz over 12K on them and look new. If they were going to wear out in the 20s, or I was pressurizing them incorrectly, it'd be showing by now.

Mechanic at my local garage told me I should increase tire pressure on truck when towing. Recommended driving is 35 psi with max being 65 psi. Not heard this before. Wondering if this is true or depends on what towing, weights etc.

Thanks
Want to thank you for this post. Being new to RVing, I read every post related to towing. So I have 20 inch LT BFG-KO2's on my F150. Went to the BFG website to see what they recommend. Turns out i should be running my tires at 48 psi. Again, your post helped me out.

I would do the chalk test to see what PSI works the best with the trailer connected. I have General Grabbers and Ford said 41 PSI. I run them at 37, because at 41 the outside edge is not in contact with the road according to the chalk test.

I don't have a trailer.

FWIW, I run my stock Primacy’s as per the door sticker @ 35 psi which it says is for GVWR. I also tow a 6,000# TT. Always 35 psi as I never exceed GVWR. 40,000 miles on truck. I don’t notice anything abnormal with the tires other than normal tread wear. Ride is still great although new tires are probably in the near future.

The problem with the chalk test is it's only a test for that specific load on your truck at the time of the test. This may be fine for someone who only ever drives alone, but load 4 people in and luggage for a weekend away and you need to do the chalk test again. If you're running an LT tire I much prefer doing the math of your max GVWR+10% at least and running that pressure. Doing the math gets you a much better and well defined safety net.

Another pro for the hated Goodyears. They have a wide PSI range.

Again, OEM tires, door sticker says 35 but the tire maxes at 51.

Thats a very forgiving tire. It'd have to be sturdily built, to do that.

Those are D rated tires -- E rated are around 45psi for F150 mass whereas the 275/65/20s E can be run at 40 psi in the 150.

Tires/pressure, towing/Payload capacity, and oil. ???

By far my favorite reads on a forum.
Things get foggy on tire pressures when leaving stock spec tires. Just going from 275/65 to 275/60 is a 5 psi difference on the tire for same load. P rated F150 tires having the same load rating at 35-51psi doesn't help either. Kinda amusing to a point though as there is no universal rule and the specs for the exact tire needs to be referenced.

Might as well be asking what bullet size to use in a rifle -- the one it's supposed to fire?
