Charge up the battery under the hood with a battery charged 100% as I did and no longer had any issues receiving over the air software updates for my 22 5.0 Lariat.

I am on the 2nd crappy Ford battery in my 22' 3.5 EB. I didn't drive mine for a week and got the message that it was shutting down remote access to conserve battery life. Perhaps they should look for a supplier who actually makes GOOD batteries. With the cost of these trucks, and the batteries having been a constant problem one would think they would fix the issue or find another vendor. I don't want a truck that I have to Plug-in to a charger in order to make sure it starts. I am well past having to do that with old cars as a kid!

If only the OTA process was that simple...

I put a brand new battery in my truck in November. My last OTA was in September.
My battery ( interstate h8) is a bit over a yr old. Last update was September as well

I’ve had the “Update Scheduled” notification in my Ford app for at least a week on an H8 battery less than a month old, not sure the battery is the problem here.

Having a good battery is just one of several elements needed for a successful OTA installation. Actually being sent an update is more important. The state of your battery's health has zero effect on an OTA being sent to a vehicle. The battery being healthy only helps to ensure it will install. If your vehicle is in line to get an OTA sent to it, it will be sent to it even if the battery was removed entirely.

It might be sent to the truck with the battery removed, but without battery power for the receiver and computer, it isn't going to download and install it. Mine is going in for an oil change tomorrow and whatever else they wrongfully think they're going to sell me. I'm having them check the battery again. This is the 2nd one that has gone flaky. Ford needs a better battery provider!

Yes, the battery needs to be in there for it to install. I was just referring to how the OTA process works overall.

Brand new battery here on my 2021 I just purchased and no dice on getting any updates. I am at Sync 23159 so I seem to be quite a few updates behind.
