I'm just a Ford guy. I count Jeeps as part of the family, since Ford built Jeeps during WWII.

Lucy is supervising the installation of the new liners.

This ^, I've had other brands throughout my life (Volvo, Jag, and a BMW), but I have always been a Ford guy. My excuse was "I know how to fix them", but truth is I've had limited issues with the Fords I've owned since getting my license in 1987.

My current stable adheres to this...

Another one I should have kept. It was nice enough to be respectable, but not too nice to use as a truck.

1966 F-100, 352 with factory power brakes, a 1976 3-speed PS column and dealer installed add-on AC.

If you are ever in a JY and run across a 3-speed PS column, grab it. They are very rare and very desirable. I bought an entire parts truck to get mine.

My full size AWD Chevy Traverse provided up to 30 mpg fuel economy, a cargo area of 4x6 feet, and the best ride in every respect of any car I have driven. Unless I was towing more than 3500 lbs or going off road (and true off road and not down dirt or gravel roads), there would be nothing to gain with a SUV with 4WD like the Toyota 4Runner.

I replaced it with a pickup with a 6.5 ft bed to provide a place for a 4x6x1.25 foot metal lock box that could be removed when not needed. All the SUV security boxes need to be bolted down and are not meant to be removed until the vehicle is sold.

I used it for 7 years in my Chevy 2500 diesel truck and now in my F-150 gas powered truck.

I admit sir that I am a little surprised you’re a real person with a truck. My apologies. What do you keep in the box? (He asked nervously)

Better ride
Nicer interior
Bigger tank and better mileage

They should all be used as trucks, as long as they aren't slammed to the ground "hot rods" with Mustang II or Jaguar suspension parts on them! My 1950 F-1 is never happier than when she's working...rides better, runs better, and puts a huge smile on my face.

I ordered because of the 5.0…and lower price from Granger. My last truck was a 2006 SRT-10 Quad cab. I did truck stuff with it but fun was always just a toe push away.

GM and Chrysler took a 11.2 billion dollar bailout from the government during the 08 meltdown and they promptly used that opportunity to move a lot of their manufacturing out of the US. I dont care how solid their vehicles are (They are mostly POS lol) but I will not support that business model.

the UAW is going to push Ford into moving offshore, GM and Chrysler just beat us to the punch.
