The other, is that once in a while, at a stop, I get the bump in the back. Again, not every time and so far, enough to make you look in the rearview but not enough to claim whiplash :)
Historically that bump with ICE off is a result of the electric auxiliary transmission pump not adequately taking the baton from the gear driven mechanical pump. Thus not gracefully maintaing the clutch pressure necessary to sit still.

Hopefully yours doesn't escalate or deteriorate beyond the bump you describe. But if I were you, I would at least harvest any soft codes that might relate to the auxiliary pump, before I shut the truck off on that trip.

You might need to assist your dealership with that code(s) if you ever need the pump replaced?

I can tell. ???

My brothers 10r80 is at 107,000 miles.
2018 HDPP RV towing (not real heavy)
Nephews 10r80 is at 128,000 miles.

I don't yet have a 10r80 at high mileage, but have had 3 trucks with it now. (7 years)

Quality Control during manufacturing and assembly could certainly be improved. But I could say that about........ Well, just about every product sold in the world today.
I'm also on my third 10R80. Traded at about 60k on the first one, 80k on the second, and only at 9k on this truck so far.

So, not high mileage, but I haven't had any transmission issues with any of them. Sometimes they do funny things, but overall they're better than any automatic transmission I've had in the past. I noticed the 2023 seemed to behave more oddly than the others for the first 500 miles or so. It ironed out quite a bit after that.

My last two vehicles I kept an average of 9 years each. I doubt I keep my '22 that long, but bought an 8 year extended warranty just in case I do.

My next truck would need to be an upgrade if I stay with a truck. I admit that most of my use could be done with a SUV but there isn't anything in the market truck or mid/large SUV wise that compares to my PB as far as capability as a whole. Hell, a brand new Honda Pilot averages the same combined MPG as my truck.

Zero issues with my 22 Platinum PB...probably one of the last to come off the line with zero deletes. Very happy with it.

How long will I keep it? If you ask the boss, she'll give it to one of the grandsons after I kick the bucket. Me? Hmmm

My '21 PB has 28k miles and 0 problems to date. Just put new tires/rims on her today and have the shackles (but not the deep well sockets yet) to drop the rear a few inches to level it off.
I'm making it uniquely mine and figure it will be my last vehicle. It's most definitly the best I've ever owned so there's that.

Sometimes I hear that thingy make funny noises in the drive thru and other places when I’m idling around (e-idle) like it goes into a high speed mode and makes this noise like it is cavitating. It stops when I put it in park but when I put it in drive again it starts up. It’s not the normal sounds of spooling up when you let off the brake, it’s louder and different. This has happened a few times. I just wish I knew more about this vehicle on a conceptual level (like I do for every other normal ICE car), because for me comfort is really knowing a machine, and all of its noises and ticks. Is my noise the aux fluid pump you are referring to? I have always assumed it was a coolant pump of some sort. It is unprecedented for most of us to hear a transmission and driveline do its thing and shift and drive around WITHOUT a much louder engine over top of it… I am the kind of person who turns off the radio, ac, and rolls down the windows the second I hear a car two lanes over from me dragging a bumper on the road… ? because I am convinced that 90% of problems with machines begin with a funny sound.

I suppose at least 8 years because I bought an 8 year warranty. I'm thinking this may be my last new truck mainly because I fear the subscription model manufacturers want to push. I'm open to refurbishing an older truck.

I have 20K on the clock, and plan on buying a ESP to cover me until 125K/10 years. I'll sell before I get to that. Might be sooner if I can find another diesel 7.3 Excursion or F250 for a good price, then just buy a daily commuter to go along with that.

I do not believe this supposed new CDF drum has corrected the pile of crap 10R80 is. Dealers are still overhauling late build 2023s with blown up transmissions all over the web and on YouTube. My 2023 is showing signs of the CDF failure despite being after the supposed design change with the added nib. Mine slapped into reverse so hard this morning it jostled my neck and made a loud clanking sounds. It bangs, it grinds, it bumps. I HATE this transmission.

My buddies 2021 XLT F-150 with the 3.5 EcoBoost will be on its 3rd 10R80 soon with 51k miles. At first I thought a new trans would help, but his 2nd 10R80 still grinds, slaps into gear, and bangs all the same as his first one. This transmission design is a pile of dog shit.
Just buy a bullet proofed 10R80 and call it a day

I'll keep my PB as long as I am towing my travel trailer. At 76, I'm much closer to the end of my towing days. When I sell my trailer, I will sell my truck.

I would replace it with a Maverick.

I bought an 8 Year / 100k ESP.
I plan on riding it out until it expires.
