I LOVE my truck, but after a week of towing on and off.. I HATE the chain connection points.

They are a pain in the ass to get chains onto.

I've read through a bunch of old posts to see what people are doing - clevis connecters, etc.

If any of you have a hard time with these, I'd be curious to know what you are doing? Nothing? Or?

I’ve never had any issues. The chains on my trailer do need to be angled to allow them to be attached to the hitch plate. However, I don’t find it cosmic.

I deal with it because I don’t want to add another weak link.

Did the same with the Quick Links on our truck. Have no issues with rattling. Ford could do a much better job of engineering this feature.

The hitch is my only complaint. GM has a much better setup.

I have a similar complaint, but what makes it easier for me is hooking them from the BACK of the tab (engaging from the spare tire side). Attempting to get into the loop from the ball mount side is a bit more difficult, especially with a larger hook.

Just hook in at the correct angle. But it probably depends on the type of hooks you have.

Mime are big hooks
Orientation is key to getting them in easy and back off
Not real good picture but they big hooks
On my previous f250 they were hard to get right in the hitch hole

Don't forget to cross over your chains (chain on the left, hooks to the right of the hitch and chain on the right, hooks on the left of the hitch).

I have never had a problem, my 2023 is at a different angle vs the 2021. My chain hooks have a spring tab and I just slide it up the back side and it drops right in the hole, never lets me down, quick and easy.

This is what I do. I agree that the safety chain loop on this truck sucks, and I hook them up every weekend in the summer. Very frustrating.
