Hi,
We'll be buying our first travel trailer next month. Towing with an F-150 (yet to be purchased - could be a new '23 or something used, as the '24 Lariat PB that we ordered won't be in until at least late March). The TT will have a dry weight of 5k, a GVWR of 7k. Towing shouldn't be an issue, but payload could be. We definitely want to err on the side of safety and are thinking about ponying up for the ProPride hitch. If you have any thoughts on this, on weight distributing and articulating hitches in general, or specific recs on hitches, we'd welcome the input. Thanks!

Propride is probably the best option for controlling sway. It's also going to be one of the heaviest options. It's going to weigh about 90-100 pounds more than something like an equalizer, which is another 100 pounds you'll need to deduct from your payload. Without knowing the actual numbers on length, final loaded weigh, payload, etc, we'd just be guessing. However, with a 5k'ish dry weight I'd guess that something like an equalizer will give you all the sway control you need and save you roughly 100 pounds of payload.
