Yet another forum troll who just spews hate...
Yeah Moe. My family means nothing to me. Let's promote idiocy behind the wheel and run up needless death just to coddle this nonsense. Give me a break. Letting someone know it's time to do grown up things shouldn't be considered trolling. Would it really kill him to look first? Because it could kill someone else.

I suggest you read the rest of the thread and my responses.

You might be surprised at the content of my post you're responding to here.

Do what you want. I'm out on this one. I stand by what I said. Boot me if it hurt some feelings. It's only a matter of time before I read another story about someone innocent being killed because we can no longer be bothered to drive like adults.

Read the thread before you run your mouth. Larry agrees with you, which you would know it you'd read the whole thread. Sarcsam is lost on those who drop into the middle of things uninformed.

Ok so I’ll actually try to be helpful.
So on my truck it’s very conservative if someone is even approaching at a higher speed but I am clear for a lane change I might do on my own it won’t do it, it will wait for the car to pass.

my guess is your ADAS needs to be recalibrated.

is your truck completely stock or have you done a level/bigger tires? Anything that might change the stock geometry?
I'm a 2022 with 1.4

Your description is pretty much how I would describe mine. Admittedly I too am a bit conservative and don't request a lane change unless my mirrors (truck mirrors ?) reflect a good situation. Yet there have been times that the BC lane change logic refused my request and waited for an even larger space to work with.

The OP's description definitely sounds more aggressive.

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
I do not have BlueCruise on my F150. I do have SuperCruise on my 23 GMC Yukon Denali XL. Motor Trend just named it the best self driving technology package out there. So my comments will come from my SuperCruise experience, but work back to BlueCruise.

SuperCruise works flawlessly on a four lane highway, Texas or Federal, with moderate traffic going straight ahead. It detects the closing speed up ahead, looks behind it, then signals and starts its move over. I do nothing to enable that, although I can force a pass with the blinker. That is pretty neat. Moderate traffic in Texas rarely exists.

It snuggles too close to that 18 wheeler on the way around though. I don't know if it is a guy/girl or girl/guy thing. Regardless, it would not take much of a manuever by the truck to toss me out into the median, which I hope is cabled.

I went around a sharp curve on this same four lane road. SuperCruise did some ugly manuevering in that corner. It lost me, then picked me back up on the other side. Another incident where I hope the median is at least cabled, because that is close to head on.

I was SuperCruising while passing a shoe box going down the highway driven by a gal text messaging. She drifted into my lane and SuperCruise did nothing. I finally hit the brake just before my wife screamed. I was watching the shoe box drift just to see if SuperCruise would catch it. Another cable in the median moment. Scared the hell out of that woman in the shoe box. Looking back, I should have honked.

So, three strikes gives me no confidence using the No. 1 Motor Trend Software. I can't imagine a situation where I could be comfortable with BlueCruise given my GMC experience. I have said many times, self driving software is nowhere near ready for prime time. Tesla has proved that.

We are testing self driving trucks on major interstates in Texas. One cannot tell what is self-driving. You pays your money and takes your chances. That excites the hell out of me.

That Yukon supposedly parks itself. Maybe one year we will have an opportunity to test that out.

So, the moral of the story is be ready to quickly take the wheel. It doesn't matter what software it is, those 14 year old programmers have not yet started driving so miss some of the finer points.

I find my truck gives me accurate information. When the light is off, the other car is out of my way, I can then decide how much gap to give them. I also manually check my mirrors before changing lanes, even if the truck is supposed to be doing it for me.

Someone earlier mentioned CX5, my wife has the beeping sound on and it kills me every time I go to switch lanes and the person is way out of the way *Beep Beep Beep*.

if you just drive faster than everyone, you’ll know when you pass them and won’t have anyone creeping up on you :) love my powerboost!
