Very kind comment indeed. Can you please tell me why it’s a stupid question when I’m thinking there may be a calibration issue I need to deal with or are you just a forum troll that likes to spew hate.
I mean, if you're afraid for your life using Blue Cruise, there's a pretty simple solution to that.

You're literally asking people how you can "safely" change lanes. You have eyes right?

never mind, I was hoping for some legitimate answers instead of sarcasm.
I have noticed the Yellow Icon goes out if the car in the left lane is holding steady on my side for a while. During a 1700 mile trip recently I noticed this happen 2 or 3 times.

Not positive this is the issue, I still have BC 1.0, but it sounds like a possible fit.

I’m really hoping there’s a way to adjust the sensitivity for the cameras that detect a safe lane change (whether using Blue Cruise or not).

Almost caused a couple serious accidents the other day because my 2025 Powerboost via the orange side view mirror icon, tells me it’s safe to change lanes right up to the point where somebody is literally at my rear bumper rather than a car length or more away as it should be.

If there is a way to adjust the sensitivity for setting the distance from the car in front of you when in cruise control, why wouldn’t there be a way to adjust the sensitivity for the lane change cameras.

For this reason, I just don’t trust using the automatic Lane change when in Blue Cruise because at some point it will cause a serious accident.

My question is, is this a problem with my specific truck or is this just a major safety feature Ford has not addressed yet?
Hey Neighbor!

Mine seems to work well, even though I use Comma 3X instead of BC. However, I've never considered anything but hands on the wheel on both Eagle Road and the 84 freeway. I'm sure you know what I mean. It's crazy out there.

Love my STX, doesn't have all that tech that tries to replace the human brain.
On a highway, cruise sure. To change lanes with other traffic, nah. Not for me. But the OP post, if Ford promotes it...it should work like intended.

I like Blue Cruise most of the time, except during lane changes. I always to my normal look for clearance, etc. BUT the BC seems to abruptly move into the next lane - it is like watching a new driver over steer then over correct into the lane. The guy behind me is probably thinking - how much has that idiot had to drink today!

Maybe try driving like you have an actual brain. You have to open your eyes and actually pay attention when your behind the wheel or the next family you kill could be mine. Then I'd have to kill you.

I have the updated BC 1.4 and I use it every day in heavy traffic and with heavy construction on our highways.
The upgraded BC works far better than the old version and better mimics human drivers in terms of accelerating and braking.
When I turn on my blinkers, it appears to keep a safe distance between cars in the next lane, whether they are in front of me or behind.
Depending on the surrounding traffic it accelerates or brakes and executes the lane change and does it smoothly.
Are there a few times when I don't agree with how BC handles a particular situation? Absolutely and that's when I override it..
Am I always attentive and watching the road conditions around me? Yes.
But I personally find BC useful.. Particularly when I am eating something.. I can still have my eyes on the road even as I am eating ?.

So it might be a good idea to get a dealer to recalibrate your system.

Is anyone paying the $49/month for BC? My subscription runs out in a few days - I am not renewing. The lane correction with cruise control is nearly 90% of BC anyway in my view.

I'm not. I used it once as a gimmick on a long road trip and it freaked me out and had never turned it on again.
