Excellent news! Glad you got it all sorted out.

I am in a holding pattern, waiting for everything to show up, then I will slap it all in.
A piece of advice: the ONLY reason to take apart the dash is if you’re installing the hvac module. If you arent, you can just use a coat hanger or fish tape to pull the wiring through behind the module

I am about to order the clock spring/sccm. seems to be a lot of back and forth as to what is needed. I have an XLT with rain sensing wipers. I would just like to get a correct part number. when I look up the clock spring it's under $100 but when I look at the sccm it's around $137 so which one do I need? any help would be appreciated.

You need ML3Z-3F791-BB

This assembly will come with the same rain sensing wiper arm as the one you have, but allow you to add the HSW. Assuming that you checked your SCCM, and it does not have the pins in place to add the power plug, then this is the one you want. You will just have to remove the power tilt/telescoping buttons.

The only reason I wasn’t completely sure yours does not have them, is because you have rain sensing wiper. My 501a Lariat doesn’t even come with those……. for now anyway.

Yeah. I was surprised it had them. But I have the co pilot assist 2.0 and have since found out that at the time of my build it came with rain sense wipers. Was a happy find. Lol. But I can’t imagine it has the pins so pulling the trigger on the part you shared. I don’t want to take shit apart more than once if I can avoid it.

My 501a lariat with rain sensing wipers did not have the pins for the heated steering wheel, unfortunately.

I can understand that. That‘s why I am waiting to do all my mods at once. Projector headlights, heated steering wheel, and rain sensing wipers.

Can I assume you have co-pilot assist? I would assume that’s why you have rain sensing wipers, and I do not.

Yeah. I hate removing plastic parts if I can avoid too many times.

Just search the spreadsheet for anything with the word rain in it, then see and compare how trucks that come with it are configured.

Looks like that might already be set to 7 regardless, but check this one as well and try to enable RSM_Present, set to C most likely

just some closure on my rain sensor issue. I got home and was able to meter my sensor connector and I have found the Lin and 12+ are dead. Traced the harness back to the c pillar and found the body harness across the floor and up the c pillar is missing the needed wires. Looks like I’ll have to find another route with the help of jhforeman.
Thanks for the suggestions

This morning I took more pictures of the steering column clock spring of my 23 platinum seems that all the wires are there it’s just the clock spring needs to be changed and the HVAC. Two spots on the clock spring are dummy ports.

That last pic shows the wiring is there, is that correct? (The gray 2 pin connector) if that’s the case you won’t have to worry about wiring it in, just changing the clock spring and you only need the HVAC module IF you want the hard button. If not you can do the soft button on the touchscreen

EDIT: on second thought it would still be wise to check the BCM connector C2280A and see if there is a wire in pin 15. If so, that should be the steering wheel heat being wired all the way up

Or meter the pins on that grey 2 pin connector. if there's power there. you're good to go. may be easier to get to than the BCM if the steering shrouds are already aparrt
