Just an update:
I took the truck to another Ford dealer. And they are telling me that it's "completely normal" for the 10-speed to have jerky shifts. They refuse to even consider the TSB...

edit:
and here's the response after reaching out to Ford "Support"

I have a 2023 F-150 that has some frequent harsh shifts. They're nothing too bad, but in probably 3/4 the cases of decelerating to a stop, I feel a slight bump (and sometimes it's more like a shove) on every gear from 6th on down. It also hesitates slightly after the upshift from 4th to 5th (if I'm remembering correct) on hard acceleration, though I'm not flooring the pedal too often so I don't encounter that problem much.

I recently brought the truck in to a dealer, as I was aware of TSB 23-2250, which covers harsh shifting for the 2017-2023 F-150. According to that TSB, I figured the dealer would at least run the "PCM - Transmission Accelerated Main Control Break In routine" on the appropriate clutches. Or maybe reflash the transmission shift strategy. However, I was only told that they could not duplicate the issue, there were no codes, no updates to run, etc., so they did nothing.

I thought the dealer was giving me the runaround, but then I found TSB 24-2046, which supersedes 23-2250, and now only attributes rough shifting issues to the 2017-2020 F-150. So I guess dealers now have no reason to troubleshoot transmission issues on our trucks, given that Ford doesn't recognize the issue at all?

So that leaves me wondering... is it just me? Or are others experiencing these same (albeit minor) annoyances with the 10R80?
Yes I am running into the same issue I have a 24 F-150 5.0. it has rough downshifting especially when cruising on the highway. It seems with me that if you are taking off from a stop and accelerating and a normal speed the transmission seems to work fine it is when it is asked to downshift to accelerate. I have tried relearning the adaptive as well as turning it completely off.

Same issues on my 2024 5.0. has issues downshifting either at cruising speed or at slower speeds when driving through town. From a stop accelerating and a normal pace the transmission seems fine but when it is asked to downshift for acceleration is when it seems to run into issues. I've tried relearning the adaptive as well as turning it off for some time. I did notice a difference once I cleared the store data for adaptive it seemed to run smoother and reduced the delay when downshifting. The next thing I would like to try is to turn it off completely to see if I can notice any difference

Curios if you found a solution? Also how are you clearing and turning off the adaptive? Is there a thread you could link for me?

I’d post in the fdrs firmware thread to have your vin ran for pcm updates.

My sep 24 build 2.7 had a pcm update in January and that completely smoothed out my transmission.

I posted in another thread recently but I think kinda applies here as well. Dealer also said no need to do the break-in routine on mine. They had done a TSB last year and updated the software which may have helped a little. I get a bump/shove 6-5 downshift regularly. Also hard braking can lead to bumps. 3-4-5 upshifts kinda drop into gear often for me too.

Finally took it in. Went for drive with tech. He had computer hooked up to OBD port during the drive etc.

Nothing. Working perfectly.

He said he did reset the adaptive learn as part of his diagnosis. So it must have helped. He said otherwise the computer can basically measure everything in the transmission. Pressures, activation times, if there are stuck valves, surging etc. Says nothing indicating any internal issues with my transmission. That’s good but…

Told me it can learn bad habits or things like towing for a weekend and then not towing can trip it up. Also said there can be times where it tries to shift and immediately lock the torque converter at the same time which feels like 2 shifts kinda occurring at once.

His feeling was the adaptive learning just sometimes doesn’t work that well.

Also filled me in that they generally have a step by step. Software first. Then if showing sticking valves or timing out of spec they do the accelerated break in. Then if still acts up they check the valve body. Then after that it’s the CDF (if the old drum design). Told me that in basically every case the computer will show them when things aren’t working correctly and when you need to escalate the remedies.

My software is fully up to date. He checked my trans fluid level and says it’s good (I also did myself awhile back and it was indeed good)

Helpful guy and I feel really put effort into things. Said if/when my 6-5 downshift and/or 3-4-5 up shift clunks come back, roll by and ask for him and he can usually jump in the truck and hook everything up and evaluate.

I asked him why Ford adaptive learning seems to be finicky vs other automakers and his feeling was other automakers struggle with it too. I do notice an occasional hitch in a Lexus 10 speed I sometimes drive but it is nowhere near the Ford.
