For what it's worth, unless you have vetted your dealership you are awful brave to believe all that marketing.

I took all of our trucks (newer Ford's) to one of the main Ford dealerships in salt lake county Utah and started noticing a few things. They never rotated my tires but always said they did. Even after I told them they didn't, they doubled down saying they checked with the mechanic and they most certainly did. So then I told them I marked all 4 tires, and can prove they didn't. So they made me wait another 90 minutes just to rotate tires after a 2 hour oil change that was scheduled in advance.
The truck came out and the "mechanic" didn't Even rotate them the way ford recommends. He just pulled fronts straight back to the rear, and rears to the front. Unfortunately the damage was done and the Toyo's were ruined because they haven't been rotating tires for who knows how long (years?).
Then I started noticing on our receipts we were always being recommended and charged for a specific service(to the tune of about $275 per visit) on top of our oil change (the works) for every vehicle every visit. When I asked about this the service writer insisted the mechanic suggested it and it needs done.
I informed him that I just had it done last oil change. I asked him how often I'm supposed to have this done because Ford doesn't recommend it every oil change. He said it wasn't actually the mechanic, it was him that was recommending it. He doesn't look up when people last did it, he just recommends it to everyone because no one does it enough. Basically he's upselling everyone for a service they don't need. At this visit I once again called them out for not rotating the tires, he chatted with the "mechanic" and said they weren't rotated because they hadn't worn enough to need rotated yet. I brought up that the point of rotating tires regularly is to avoid them becoming noticeably different. He disagreed and ford lost a customer that was regularly bringing in more than a few trucks. It was clear they were not trustworthy.

I hear you. I had a similar experience with the Jeep dealer for my Wife.

I literally told them what I had done within days and to not just go by what the computer said. I warned them, not to call with the generic computer list and to actually look at the Jeep.

We weren't gone 5 minutes and the same guy I talked to called with a list as long as my arm, including things I had just done.

We spun around and picked it back up., on the spot.

So, I get it but I've already weeded out the 2 nearest dealers, for various reasons. This is the next one. Someday, I might NEED a dealer and if they can't handle a simple oil change and check up, then I'll know to cross them off the list too.

Glad to hear you're aware of your surroundings and not being taken advantage of.
I desperately want a quality Ford dealer to take our trucks to. So far I haven't found one and now use local general mechanic shops. I know they don't have all the fancy specialized Ford tools/computers, but those are only as good as the people operating them.
There are more dealers the next county over (in any direction) but it would be silly in my opinion to drive that far for general maintenance.

Just had a similar “WORKS” issue. Dropped it off for works, recall and for them to check on board generator. Works and recall was done quick but they called and said it would need to stay overnight for the other issue. Long story short-it was there for two days and they didn’t rotate tires and now I’m not sure if they even changed the oil! Why does it need to be so difficult to get service?

Sounds like a couple of discrete marks on the tires with a silver sharpie is in order.

If you've got a discount tire, you're better off using them for tire stuff. Not even 1k miles into ownership had a roofing nail stuck in my sidewall. For about $200, less than the cost of a tire I had it replaced w/ warranty certs on all tires. Got new wheels/tires a year later and moved the 'warranty' over to them. Now rotate / balance happens whenever I want it by folks who only do wheels and tires.

That was sort of how I knew they did not rotate my tires after service. I had previously scuffed my white lettering on my rear passenger side tire. When I went to pick it up, same tire in the same place.

OK, so not perfect but not a scam either.

I know they changed the oil, and checked the air filter, because there are prints in the dust on the oil fill cap, the air box and the turbo tubes.

I know they changed the oil filter, because there is fresh residue on the drain funnel.

I know they rotated the tires, because I had an old pic and can identify that particular tire by the Ford emblem placement, relative to the last R in Wrangler.

The not perfect part.

They didn't update the oil life meter, even though they checked it off, on the paperwork. I made them do this, when I caught it.

They flipped the rotation. They rotated right rear, to left front. According to the owners manual, the right rear should now be right front. Not sure how big a deal this is but isn't per the owners manual, so I have to give them at least a minor ding.

My PB is my first "new" vehicle, and so I've been taking it to dealers for all service while in warranty, and now since out of warranty, take it to dealers for anything I can't do myself or might debatably impact the hybrid system.

My thinking was that they treat consumers like soccer mom's, so I just bring it to them and let them do what the book says...I found out immediately, that's not how it works.
Selling dealership missed my first oil change, first tire rotation, and hit me for out-of-warranty on front end because it was pulling to the left at 12075 miles (I called them about it at 5k miles).
Same dealer, after 2 visits not fixing the pulling, faulted me for not rotating tires at 5k (owners manual says 10k or at oil changes)... Why tf would I rotate the tires when I bring it to you? I was mighty pissed about the alignment charge when the only reason it was there out of warranty mileage was that they delayed my appointment, and it was in-warranty when I set the appointment..."We only go by the odometer reading we take in the shop." "Oh, so with the constant data collection the truck feeds back to mothership Ford, you can't tell what the odometer read when I made the appointment 2 months ago?"

So I ditched them and found another dealer. They were great at first, but then same thing, said they rotated tires and didn't. And so on. Nice guys, and I don't want to call them out or get them in trouble, so I'm now moved on to yet another dealer.

BUT...if it's in warranty, I will use the dealer, get "the works", and hold the paperwork all day long. Though my experience with the Motorcraft battery has me lacking faith in the brand...I'm a firm believer in Mobil1 everything now. 20 years and I've never had a major engine problem except one seal at 300k miles in an old car.

With a valve, a drain pan, Amazon delivery of your oil and filters, and a drain plug valve, you can save time AND money doing oil changes yourself. The KEY enablers are 1) drain plug valve and 2) oil filter that is not overtorqued and ideally one like a K&N with a 1" nut built into the housing so you can always wrench it off no matter what. Overtorqued Motorcraft oil filters are the worst part of the oil change, and if you do them yourself you will never deal with that issue.
