Gen 14 Uncomfortable Seat Fix - Foam From F-250 Seats

I've got a '23 F150 Lariat, with the seat heaters and cooling-whatever. I'd wonder if the foam is contoured in a way to facilitate the AC air coming through.
I'm 6'4" ~190 and these seats are great, but I'd argue too wide for me LOL
Daddy was an upholsterer, so this swap is still interesting to see

I'm not sure about these years but the earlier ones had a soft plastic channel embedded in the foam that was used in the cooled seats. When I replaced seat foam in my '08, the only Ford cushion foam available had that ductwork.

The cooled seats have a cutout underneath for the fan port. There are holes in the foam for the air to come through the bag.

Great writeup @XLT22 I own a 2014 Ford F150 and I think the seats in that truck are more comfortable than my 2024. where you said the seats are “too soft and bolsters too hard giving the feeling of sitting on a bucket” is exactly how these seats feel to me too. I have noticed that when I am wearing denim jeans that they’re not as comfortable as if I’m wearing something slick like gym pants.

I may have to try this modification out myself. Did you have any trouble getting the F150 fabric over the taller F250 cushion?

Glad you found something that works for you. Seats are so subjective and more people need to test them in person versus reading on forums or Facebook.

I have a XL 101A and I love the seats and it was a big reason I went through with buying a base model instead of stepping up to an XLT. Most comfortable seat versus both my other vehicles that have power seats. Did an almost 1900 mi round trip this fall and was incredibly comfortable. Body type, weight, etc.

Not an issue at all. If anything the cover appears to fit better. The F-250 foam is actually a good bit cheaper than a replacement F-150 piece as luck would have it.

Unfortunately the true test is how they each wear-in and flatten out after 60,000 miles of my big rear bouncing them down...

I didn't like the seats in my STX so I put a sheep skin seat cover on which has a memory foam bottom. Really comfortable and eliminates the need for a heated seat in the winter. Seat comfort is a really subjective thing based on individual anatomy...

I have had almost 20 Ford trucks over the years and my 2010 Lariat was the most comfortable. My 2024 Xl is probably the worst. I added some Lumbar and added blocks to change the height and angle. At 5'10'' and 180 lbs it still needs a lot more tweaking. I picked the truck up 900 miles away and I gave it a good test for a new vehicle. Seat pretty much sucks!

195-210 depending on the season. Everyone that's been in the front seats for more than 30 minutes hates them. This forum is chock full of complaints since this gen rolled out.

They're ALL faulty to some degree. I've installed several sets of Katzkins for people and had two of these trucks myself and every single cushion has varying amount of those voids and hard spots.

I had no idea the F-250 seats were bigger. I guess the Super Duty really is a big boy truck.

2024 XLT. No issue with the seats at all. I really like the ergonomics of everything on the truck in fact, that being one of the main deciding factors of getting the F150 over other brands, especially for a tall 6'3 person.
