The FX4 option also gives you a cool sticker

I thought "rick crawl" mode was a typo, but I see your name is Rick! After having the FX4 package on my 2019 Lariat, I purposely looked for a truck without it.
The skid plates are garbage, and the shocks sucked.
I put Fox 2.0 on all 4 corners with a 2" level and it handled so much better.
I now have a 23 Platinum 4x4.
I added hill decent (new switch, jumper wire, and some Forscan magic) and rick crawl mode (more Forscan magic). Tremor front skid plate ordered, still deciding on the rest.
I'm still on the fence about new shocks and a level. The stock ride is pretty decent as it is.
Now I have a smooth ride and some additional off-road capabilities.![]()

I went with Bilstein 5100’s based on experience with my MY22 Ranger.OK, interesting subject. Now, if I were to install new shocks all around on my '23 Lariat, what would be the best recommendation with price and performance considerations? Adjustable vs fixed? Any impact on the warranty? Thanks in advance for the recommendations....Cheers all and Merry Christmas
The FX4 rear shocks are Ford's OEM "off road" shocks and I would guess they r a different part number but these OEM shocks are not very good. That is why it is so widely recommended to upgrade to Bilsteins. I put the Bilstein 5100s on the back and noticed a significant upgrade vs. the OEM FX4 shocks. The real way to tell a difference is find out of the part #'s for the shocks and springs are different between FX4 and non FX4.
FWIW coming from the Toyota/Chevy world, I think this truck is already ahead in ride quality.
