full screen Waze

When using waze thru wireless carplay on full screen the small side screen comes on and is all black and blocking the right side of the waze screen. The arrows in the upper left of the screen show that Waze is in full screen mode. To get rid of the small right hand Ford screen you have to use the upper left arrow button to make Waze smaller than use the button again to expand the screen. All is good until you restart the truck and it starts all over. This has only started in the last month. My lates up date is 4.2.4 . Any suggestion on how to correct this.

This must be an Apple thing, as Waze works fine on Android Auto.

Not really...Waze in Android Auto really sucks lately. I have an additional issue of the blue route disappearing. Set destination, it calculates, shows the blue route for 2 seconds, then blue route on the map disappears and navigation continues in the background.

I have not had any issues with Waze recently.

Tried using google maps and it does the same thing. looks to be a ford thing.

What version of Sync do you have. I haven't seen the issue with Waze on my iPhone

Might be isolated to your phone. Mine has never done it and now that I have this truck, it works fine still. What phone do you have? Might want to look in forums for that phone. I have the Google Pixel 7.

I've found that the Pixel phones are the best Androids and everything always works. Plus no bloatware from the other manufacturers.

It works perfectly fine on the phone itself (Samsung Galaxy S21+), the issue is only with Android Auto. I reported it to Waze, sent logs and pics of the problem, they confirmed that they are aware of this issue and working on a fix. Whether or not this is true is yet to be seen

Happens on my iPhone (CarPlay) too- but, as others have noted- it's also a problem for Apple Maps and Google Maps as well- so I just assumed it was a Ford problem. Not too big a deal as I can just quickly tap any other App on the left margin- and then right back to maps and it's fine (for me). I'm on 6.2.0.
