i do know if i sit on the tailgate when its down....it will not lift me up  ?
Hmm mine was down all day and i sat on it a handful of times especially before dinner b/c the kids were ridin their bikes around.

did you lift it up to see if it would power close? or did you just close it manually?

I'm wondering if it would have worked if i had hit the button.

I have had this happen exactly one time on my job 1 ‘21 I was not near the truck but walking from the front of the truck, pressed the button and slam! Flew open. Scared the shit out of me to worry that one of my kids could have been by it.

I always use the power open and manually close and have never had it happen again.
make sure it is clear before pressing the key fob.

Knowledge Manager, use PB as my office.
I am experiences if not all of the above at some point. since the button and key fob work at some point of a 'reset' of the tailgate. I wonder if there is a mechanical limit switch that is getting dirty? confusing the release / lower system? Does anyone have a schematic of the motor and any switches/sensors to check?

I use my key fob to power down and power up every time I use it.

No problems.

My power tailgate has been glitchy since delivery. The selling dealer disassembled the tailgate on three occasions to chase intermittency, complete failure and LineX glitches in the first six months.

Yes, I’ve endured the three-beep rejection and many other failures to retract — manually, from the dashboard and from the fob.

Too, the retractable tailgate step requires 1 thumb to push the button and the other set of fingers to pull the step free from the tailgate.

Can a pop-out spring or lever be adjusted to make the ladder pop out as intended? Also the button either defeats the use of gloves (as they are caught in the button) or offers a serious pinch hazard.

At 67,000 miles, I’m just living with the glitches
