That $35 fuel cap pin should take about 2 minutes to make on a CNC machine. I know I’ve owned a CNC equipped machine shop for over 40 years. But if you can get it go for it.

Just ordered a Megaohm fuel door pin and see that it doesn't appear to include the rubber piece. My question is what bad things will happen if I no longer have the rubber piece from the old fuel door pin and install the Megaohm fuel door pin without the rubber covering. What is the purpose of the rubber piece? Thanks for any clarification.

created 3d printable STL with an upgraded Pin with centering so the right side is always up in STL. did it in PLA CF. (Carbon fiber) seems to be holding up. Ill let you now if I need to do it in ASA or something stronger. just used a washer on one side and a small screw to hold it in place.

I’ve replaced mine with the billet aluminum one and it seems to work okay. But I occasionally get a fuel door open message. Very infrequently, but I have to get out and open and close it. Where is the sensor that determines the fault? The door is in fact closed.

Have had no issues since replacing with another OEM one last year. Got a new Explorer and it uses the same part. Still have a spare for when needed.
