The warranty they provide is pretty laughable if you really dig into the fine print.

So i read the info wrong and bought a truck with the FP whipple. I thought the entire time it was 135 rated because it was tuned by whipple. Now what to i do i want to drag and drive and its 1/4 mile... At this point i am about to say f the warranty. Really need the 105 removed. That fact that its even a thing is just dumb.. It was my mistake! I read so much ,but never seen the 105 cap ... SIGH

My advice, just spend the $$ now and get the stage 2 upgrade or

Spend the money for the updated calibration from Whipple to remove the limiter. It is around 425 bucks if I remember correctly. Stage 2 upgrade is ~2g's and some change.

Either way you go, before you call Whipple, go out and get the serial number off the blower as they will want that before they do any upgrades. It is on the drives side, back end of the hat and is a silver label. It is kinda hard to read, so I used my borescope to get a good read on it.

I was in the same situation for SickWeek this year and got the updated calibration before I left. On the slow end (mid to low 12's) you be at ~110mph at the trap. If your truck can get into the 11's, you'll be at ~115-120 at the trap with a stage 1 w/limiter removed. My truck is an extended cab, stock bottom, trans and converter. I did not remove the rear seat or spare tire to lose some weight, so your overall weight will come into play obviously. I went to the scales at SGMP after my first pass and came in at 5425 lbs.

When I got home in Feb, I ordered the Stage 2 upgrade. It's a never ending addiction!

My only concern going to Stage 2 was the stock cats with the additional power, so I added a set of SPD Hi Flow cats and love them! Sound great, flow great and zero issues with CEL's. I knew I was going to upgrade to stage 2 so I bit the bullet and did the cats so I would be set when I did upgrade. I am not saying you have to swap cats, but some folks have had issues with the stock ones, and I didn't want to do long tubes, so Hi Flow cats were the answer for me. I am 15K miles into this set up now and daily this truck and she runs great. Get a good catch can if you don't have one yet.

I went stage 1R this time vs my previous stage 2 setups and it has a smaller pulley compared to the stage 2.
I would recommend the stage 2 just to have the headroom for more upgrades later. There is usually a spring sale so you might wait a little to see.
Spring sale...$9600 to $9300 lol

Whipples everyday military/leo discount is more than that. It is either 5 or10% I can’t remember which.

I think it is 5%....or I can try to combine both since I qualify for LEO and wife qualifies for military discount

Yes the Ford performance supercharger limits the speed. There's a reason. Ford Performance products come with a warranty but also don't void out any manufacture warranty. So you keep your engine warranty. Now those that want to go faster than 105 and say on a track well you're going to void that engine warranty pretty quickly if something does happen to go wrong. OEM's can void warranties if a vehicle is used on track with aftermarket products. Yes whipple does have it's own warranty but it doesn't warranty any issues if there's an engine issue. For the majority buying superchargers they'll never see a track. Yes the speed restriction is in place but there's nowhere in the states you can legally go 105 either.

I also know of someone who bought a ford performance one and blew his engine in 5 months. Yes it happens.
