Ok I’m finally going to pull the trigger on rear shocks. I can get Fox2.0s installed for 500 or the 5100s for 400 installed.

I do zero off-roading unless you count the pothole ridden streets of Dallas.

I did the Bilstein 5100 on the rear and getting ready to do the 6112 coil overs in the front. No serious off road.

Bilstein's 5100's will be ever so slightly firmer on the compression than OEM FX shocks. Where they make the most improvement is on the rebound damping. Much better than OE FX shocks and will eliminate the boat-ish like ride. Since you do the vast majority of driving on surface streets then the Bilstein's are probably the way to go. They will hold up very well in off road conditions as well.

Fox will likely moderately firmer than the Bilstein 5100's.

from what “shocksurplus” on youtube says, fox is more soft than bilstein. and that eibach is the best of both worlds.

Last time I ran Fox 2.0's I hated them. They were much stiffer than OE. Bilstien 5100's are rated as OE replacements. Eibach's are are also definitely worth the mention.

I put the 5100's in the rear on both my 20 Ranger and the 22 PB and they made all the difference in the world as far as ride quality and handling improvement. After installing them the ride of both trucks just simply felt more planted and stable. Still need to put a set on the front of the PB.

I put these Fox 2.0 on mine and stay on road They feel tighter on the truck and rear doesn’t bounce around in rough roads.

I have the Ford Performance Bilstein's on mine. Fox typically recommendeds that their units be rebuilt after a certain amount of miles and that wasn't something that I was interested in. As always, to each, their own.

The ride comfort with Fox is substantially better than the 5100's. Fox's are soft on road, but firm when they need to be. The bilsteins accomplish the job, but have no comfort aspect.
Do not listen to anyone who says Fox's are stiffer than Bilstein. Look up linear (fox) vs. digressive (bilstein) shocks.

Are you planning on lifting? The yellow 4600 Bilsteins are softer than the silver 5100 Bilsteins.

That said, Bilsteins do firm up the ride. I've heard Eibach ride a bit nicer than Bilsteins too, while still maintaining the superior digressive valving Bilstein uses over Fox.

Both brands are going to be an improvement overall. As many have stated; Fox is going to ride softer then Bilstein. That comes down to a personal preference as to if that is a good or bad thing. We have tested the Fox 2.0s before and found they rode way too soft for our liking. But, we also do both on and off road driving. On daily roads they ride very well. Off roading they were way too soft.

Bilstein will definitely give you the firmer/planted feel. 5100s can ride a little too stiff for some folks but again, its all based on preference. The ideal middle ground to get the best overall ride and comfort could be the Bilstein 6112/5160 (or 5100) or the Eibach Pro Stage 2 or 2R. Eibach sits right in between Bilstein and Fox in terms of ride comfort. Not too soft but not too stiff. They perform well on and off road too.

Regardless of what route you go; your listed options or not a bad decision either way. It will come down to what you think youll like more. Our top selling kits are the Bilstein 6112/5160 and the Eibach Pro 2R. Everyone has loved those kits all around. Great overall rides. Not super expensive. And we just got a restock on all of them. So if you get more questions feel free to reach out to us anytime.

Not the Fox shocks, IMO. The rear end of the truck was very unsettled when I had them on. Took them off.

I had the Fox 2.0's on my 2021 Powerboost and didn't care for them. I felt that the damping was not well tuned for the heavier springs on the powerboost, and the rear end was VERY unstable when unloaded (more than the OEM FX4 shocks, which surprised me).

I can see that for sure on a PB. That weight is just too much for those shocks to give that steady ride.

What's your recommendation on a PB? 5112's?
The Bilstein 6112/5160s or the Eibach Pro 2R. Those two are our most popular overall but for sure with the PB owners. Id argue the 6112/5160 combo is a better route as that slightly firmer ride and slightly larger shock body works better with the PB overall. But truthfully those that also have the Eibach have had nothing but good things to say about them. Eibach does have the advantage too of being a full coilover set up so you can adjust the height to your liking and get each side to level out better. Eibach also can get up to 3" of lift (on a PB thats 2.5 of course) which is a 1/2" higher then Bilstein can provide.
