These trucks are definitely floaty and soft compared to every other truck on the market.

Although the 18's were the standard option, I would not say many of us have 18's. Most dealer inventory has either chrome appearance package or BAP.
I spend a lot of time on the road, I see maybe 1 Lariat per month (if that) with 18's, and about 1,000+ with 20's.
The ride comfort with Fox is substantially better than the 5100's. Fox's are soft on road, but firm when they need to be. The bilsteins accomplish the job, but have no comfort aspect.
Do not listen to anyone who says Fox's are stiffer than Bilstein. Look up linear (fox) vs. digressive...
