I wouldn't bother adding that speaker as many actually choose to unplug it. Since it is not stereo, it doesn't improve imaging and only slightly increases the overall volume. You would be better served replacing the door speakers and A-pillar tweeters with something like the OE69C-FD from PowerBass if you are interested in upgrading your audio.

I have used PowerBass before in my Tundra and their speakers work great. I will for sure look into this. Thank you!

Sometimes the sound is better without the center speaker. I have a Sprinter van and when the speaker was disconnected, the sound was amazing. All of the other speakers were finally heard.

Interesting. I am just wondering if the center speaker would even play through that wire. If the stereo is even wired to it. Also I wonder if lowering the Ohms of speakers in your doors would pull more power towards them and give a better boost.

I was looking a way to add USB port up there. Doing research before I ran the cables. Also was considering to power my Midland Radio up there.

Just ordered 8ohm sony speakers. Not the paper kind that comes in our F150s. This one same size and same specifications but made by Sony and is used in Fusion and a Lincoln vehicles 8A8T-18808-CA

Maybe this will help with how it is set up . I was removing it to see what head was used on the nav sat delete. Your photo helped me to see that you do not need to tear the whole dash apart to remove the head unit (ACM).

Hi... Were you able to fix the center speaker. I have 2022 f150 STX and planning to buy center speaker from ebay. Some people say that you have to program ACM. I don't know anything about ACM.

There is definitely an option to enable/disable the center speaker within the ACM using forscan.

I am defiantly going to find a used center speaker to test this out.

any old speaker of the same impedance will due for testing purposes (although if you pump 20W through an old transistor radio speaker it may well blow, catch fire, or . . .).

But as long as the speaker can handle similar power, it will answer.

A side issue, though, is that if you have anything more than a simple left/right stereo pair , it's going to throw off the balance, even if it works.

that's easy to test: probe with a multimeter set to AC (so you don't have to worry about polarity, and in case it's a signal). If it's a steady 5, 9, or 12-15v, it's probably power.
