While the dealer’s service advisor pulled some shady crap, the truck owner DID “authorized them to perform any maintenance needed”.

Never……ever, give a shop the ok to do what ever they feel is needed.
You are absolutely right, I authorized it so I paid for it. My mistake. Their mistake was inflating prices and services. I have purchased 12 vehicles from them in 8 years. They lost my business permanently. They made a few hundred bucks, but lost significant future business. Integrity matters.

Sorry, but was just highlighting the other side of the coin for others to learn from.

It sucks they chose a quick, cheap buck over the value of a wonderful customer. I hope you take a few minutes and schedule a meeting with the sales and service managers. Inform them of how you were so poorly taken advantage of.

I had a conversation with the General Manager of the dealership. He blamed it on directives from the new ownership team - which means they will not be correcting the issue until it costs them a ton of customers.

2023 Powerboost F-150 Platinum, I took my truck to my dealership for its 15k maintenance. I authorized them to perform any maintenance needed. I was a bit surprised by some of the charges. I need to know if my dealership was acting in good faith. Brake Fluid Service $189.95, Fuel Injection Service $328.79 (includes $140.83 for PM-30-K additive) this one seems excessive. Throttle Body service $129.95, plus oil change, filters,...$897.52 for a 15k mile service. Any thoughts. I don't mind paying for service if needed. However I don't want to be overcharged and I suspect I was.
Just completed the 30K service and asked the service dept where i have it serviced, if there was anything I needed to do for this cycle. I have it serviced it every 5K with oil changes, tire rotation and anything else it might need. This time they added a cabin air filter, new wipers along with oil, fluids checked and filled, tire rotation and it was only $185.00. I probably could have done wipers myself but since it was in, I told them to go ahead. Guess I WAS overcharged for the wipers and cabin air filter based on what I could have purchased at NAPA...? Cheers!

There is a big difference between needed maintenance and recommended maintenance. The Ford manual shows the what an oil change requires at a minimum. Other services, often delineated as recommended by dealer, appear to be the ones you listed.

I also had the 15K service recently completed at the dealership where I purchased the truck from (Phil Long CoSprings), and the service writer successfully convinced me that the fuel injection service was in my best interest. Apparently they fooled me!

Before leaving, what really got me fired up was finding greasy hand prints on both doors and the hood, and for the second time at this service center. Needless to say they've lost my business.

Print out there is a master note on all my vehicles left by ford ***customer disputes all charges*** I haven’t had a dealer pull this shit in over 15 years. ??

Dealers make half their profit from service work and parts so if you bend over they are going to take advantage. Numerous times I have had their service sales people try to sell me on fluid replacement that was not needed.

I started making a summary sheet of all the maintainance needed at various mileage amounts and keep that inside the vehicle. No need to have the manual as the single page sheet covers all that is needed on one page.

It is well worth the effort to do this and have the information all on one piece of paper. I spend less than an hour using a PDF version of the owner manuual and need do this only once for a vehicle.

There are some fluids that should be changed after XX months regardless of miles driven as with coolant and brake fluid and even motor oil (at least once every 12 months).

Is that for the diesel model or something? I am pretty sure our only fuel filter is in the tank and not intended to be serviced.

I usually get a phone call from Ford asking how I was treated and was I happy with the service. A bad report will hurt them with dealer cost and allotments for stock. It doesn't take much in bad customer satisfaction to hurt them.
