Folding Shifter Delete & Rotary Knob Swap

Just looking for confirmation for the correct shifter for my truck with the newest updated parts

With 40 pages of thread and dozens of part numbers I’m looking for confirmation that the newest updated expedition shifter is backwards compatible with My 2023.

currently planning on purchasing PolymerBuilts expedition unit and he lists it working with LL1P-7P155-AD but the issue is that, that unit is almost impossible to source.

will LL1Z-7P155-K work with a 2023 and his unit?

From what I think I understand so far is that LL1Z-7P155CB will work but is now obsolete and has been replaced with the newer updated parts”K” ?

I'm not sure about the "K". I just installed NL1Z-7P155-B, and it works perfectly.

I really need to take the time and try to put as many confirmed working models in my listing. I haven't seen anyone mention the -K variant, but if it's the replacement for -B and -F I would think it would work.

EDIT - ok, read through the whole thread, and didn't see anyone using a LL1Z-7P155-B or -F either. I guess we need a tester.

It could be done. @Ajzride already has a front mount version. I don't think anyone was looking to do flush mount as it would interfere with the work surface.

I'd argue front flush mount looks better for the vast majority of trucks which don't have a folding work surface. Plus it avoids the patent, hopefully.

True, true. I'll have to see how busy I get this weekend, maybe I can find time to mock it up.

Not having the work surface, the lack of a flush-mount option delayed my implementation of this mod - I just thought it would look much better and be more convenient. I'm glad I balked; I ended up going with the console-to-column shifter conversion and love it.

YMMV, no worries, it's good to have different options available!

I have one from AJ and one from the Etsy guy and neither, would I paint.


BTW for those above discussing the location, I initially wanted the front forward knob, but almost immediately with the rear knob location in, it felt very, very natural.

Same.

I can rest my arm on the armrest and turn the knob to back out then straight in to drive. Also having the phone further forward is good as it's closer to the charging point and just a glance down, further back would be awkward.

I like the shifter in the rear location due to reasons mentioned below by others...but I'd be interested in a flush mount version. Not a fan of the recessed look honestly.

Same for me. I got the one from AJ and then decided on the Etsy one as I liked the rear position better, and I was able to get the phone mount from the guy on Etsy.
