Folding Shifter Delete & Rotary Knob Swap

And I don't care so much for the folding option. It's nice with the work surface, but I prefer a console shifter in general, folding or not folding.

I love the Console shifter. Looks great and feels beefy.

I was however, very disappointed when I was installing the lighted cup holders to see the shifter was all electric. Then irritated they wasted so much prime console space instead of using a knob or pushbutton.

I have been wanting to do this mod ever since I test drove an F150 PB 3 years ago. I like console shifters but the F150 one is so clunky, imprecise, and the motorized thing is just a huge waste of space.

As soon as the parts list is finalized (I need the +/- buttons as I do tow) and I can buy a 3D printed mount/bin I am on it.

My phone will fit perfectly in the front part of the bin, I am thinking I'd like to have someone mod the replacement part with a slight angle to the front so I could put a wireless charger there, and drop my phone in to charge (like the Ram trucks have).

pretty cool. Kinda makes me want to convert to column shift seeing all that extra space. That or locating the shifting knob to the PTBA location might be cool.

I wanted to convert to column shift too but with the electric adjust steering column it can’t be done without replacing the column to a manual adjust.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently and what a simple swap! @Ajzride are you making the thingiverse file yourself? I noticed in an above link it directs to your workstation platform but nothing regarding this. Might have missed it though, I’m on my phone.

Do you have a p/n for the Expedition knob with notches, the M and +/- ?

What's the drive mode button do on the F150? Does it cycle through the drive modes (eco, normal, etc) like the rotary dial on the dash? Curious if anyone has tested this on the F150. It would be neat (although potentially confusing) to have it in both places.

dang that's unfortunate.. as I would gladly mount this in a custom enclosure where my drive mode selector is.. and then 3d print a replacement media bin so that I can keep my differential lock in there.. As mine is 2wd hardly ever need to touch it..
