In theory yes. Worth bearing in mind not all modules can be updated OTA so for some stuff like PCM updates, etc you'd need FDRS anyway if you want everything up to date.

Look on this forum... or ask around...one member rents the Mongoose. I think he's in Ont.I just got back from the dealership (for the second time since July) and yet again, they failed to flash the OTA updates. They believe the issue is on Ford's end. I have been stuck on 1.7.1, Version: 21146_PRODUCT Revision: 145, since last year. I would give the FDRS a go, but $700 CAD for a one-time use dongle???
@Ford Motor Company still assisting people on this forum? What about Canadian F-150 truck owners?
I wouldn't consider it one time use since you can use it over and over until it breaks (which will likely be never, or at least years from now), but I get your point. I don't regret buying mine at all even though I've only used it 3-4 times since I bought it a year ago. It all depends on how much the updates are worth to youI just got back from the dealership (for the second time since July) and yet again, they failed to flash the OTA updates. If you went the purchase route, you could easily turn around and resell it for about 90% of what you purchased it for very easily. Definitely not a one time use cable.I just got back from the dealership (for the second time since July) and yet again, they failed to flash the OTA updates. They believe the issue is on Ford's end.
