I'm looking at these as well and cross shopping with Yokohamas. Do you have the tread width on these in a 265/70/18? Yokohama has it listed but Falken doesn't.

Also I love me a discount. ?

Got my AT4W 285/70-18's (load range C) mounted on 18x9 +18mm KMC Impact wheels with an Icon stage 5 level (set at about 2" to retain some rake). Tires are at about 36psi all around.

Initial take after about 500 miles on them.

- Fit: This tire wheel combo fit perfectly well with stock suspension marking the biggest I would say works with no rub anywhere through full articulation and wheel turn. No trimming or crash bar adjustment. Poke is minimal and the clearance to the UCA is ample. Test fit 295/70-18 AT3Ws on this wheel and did get rub on the front crash bars both sides.

- Looks: Better than I expected. Similar to the AT3ws with a nice balance of aggressive side walls without looking over the top for day to day. Fills the wheel wells nicely and has a nice stance from the front/rear.

- Traction: So far so good in the dry, rain, and sleet/snow. Have not pushed them hard but have gotten some slip on the rear with an empty bed and leaning a bit heavy on the throttle (kind of to be expected). Will see how they do in the dirt and mud here shortly. Rubber compound feels slightly stiffer than the AT3w's on my other rig but that is only measured with my calibrated fingertips. I imagine this is what owes to the better dry performance and 65k mile rating.

- Feel on road: Slightly more firm ride than the stock 20's due to load C/sidewalls and weight I presume. Gaining sidewall from the 275/60-20s I am pleasantly surprised that cornering feels good if not better than stock with minimal feeling of tire tuck. The extra weight per corner however is noticeable and prior to the Icon leveling kit, running these on stock front struts there was noticeable 'bobble' or 'jitter' after square edge bumps at speed. This went away entirely with the Icon kit and now it feels firm yet planted and compliant over all impacts and bumps/dips.

Noise: More hum than stock (of course) and slightly more noticeable than the AT3Ws but nothing close to a drone or even worth paying attention to unless you are listening for them. Wife hasn't noticed anything cruising around with the radio off. Also note the AT3Ws I am comparing them to are mounted on a completely different platform so probably apples to oranges.

Off-road: Coming soon.

Towing: Coming soon.

Overall, the AT3Ws set a pretty high bar that I am hoping these live up to if not exceed. If anything big comes up I'll update this post. Until then, looking forward to putting these through the paces.

The Falken Wildpeak A/T4W is here at last and the new A/T4W is shaping up to outshine its immensely popular A/T3W in every respect. This includes tread depth, weather protection, and on-and off-road performance.

Previously only available on the Wildpeak R/T and Wildpeak M/T, Falken has introduced their three-ply DURASPEC technology into the A/T4W (available on select sizes). This construction is stiffer and thicker compared to it's 2-ply counterpart, to endure harsh off-road conditions. No matter the terrain, from smooth highways to rough paths, this all-terrain tire will keep you safe and secure. The three-peak mountain snowflake weather indication and weather-focused tread composition and pattern give it the ability to tackle almost any weather condition.

If you've already got your hands on a new set of WildPeak A/T4W tires for your F150, we'd love for you to share your initial impressions along with a picture or two!

-KEY FEATURES-
  • A brand-new rubber tread composition ensures your tires provide long-lasting comfort on the road.
  • Falken introduced their revolutionary 3-ply DURASPEC Sidewall Technology. This technology is only available on certain sizes.
  • The new staggered shoulder blocks and projecting sidewall lettering work together for an extra grip, even on tough conditions.
  • The latest Heat Diffuser technology releases trapped heat from within the tire. This provides even more stability. Whether you're towing or carrying a heavy load.
  • Increased tread stiffness and a sturdy build allow for greater load capacities and tire pressures than A/T3W.
  • The tread pattern is both familiar and amplified. It has 3D Canyon Sipes and a silica-enhanced compound to improve performance and traction in snowy, icy, and rainy weather.

Would you be able to check on the current status of the 285/ 55R22 AT4s?

After we discussed ordered a set, I did order them from my local DT within the week but was told the size had already sold out.

Any update on when the product should arrive at DT. About 2 weeks ago my local DT told me another 90 days which was the same I was told when I ordered them in January.

Thanks.

Unfortunately what arrived at my local Discount was a set of 285/55 R20s (not 22s) and after some additional calls into Falken from the local Discount representative, the word is that still no 285/55R22s and no definitive delivery timetable.

Thank you for taking my call! The proper tires have been ordered and are OTW! I apologize for the delay.

Just received yet another call from my local DT and they are back to stating that they are unable to get the correct tires as they are backordered. This is a change from stating they were being delivered today.

They are saying that whenever they put in the correct size their PO comes back with 20" rims on it again.

Maybe we can chat (PM) as I am not looking to hijack the thread, but I am wanting to buy Icon suspension and would really like to talk to you and get more insight on the suspension. Thanks!

I just replaced my stock OEM's with the Falken Wildpeak AT4 several days ago. My use case is recreational camping, overlanding, part time nomading, and everyday driving. About 5% of the life of the tire will see off-roading.

Since I had very good luck (only two simple repairable flats of 2000 miles of off roading) on my OEM tires, I decided to stay with the same size tire (275/65/R18)and kept it at the factory SL load instead of bumping up to LT load.

The ride quality so far is excellent...very similar to my last tires, even though the Wildpeak AT4 weighs about 49 pounds. That's over 11 pounds than my Goodyear Wrangler AT that weighed about 37 pounds each. If I would have pushed that to the same tire size in LT load the tire would have weighed in the mid 60 pound range.

I'm thinking about doing the same. Either the same size as you or 265/70/18. Either way, it's about 50 lbs. Would be curious as to what mpg hit you take after you've had them a bit.

I have had the AT3s on my truck for the last 3 years and love them. was very disappointed that they are discontinuing them. I started looked for replace my tires and will choose the AT4 hoping it gives me the same ride and not to loud/noisy. my AT3s are LT305/55R20. Hoping I can stay the same with the AT4 but I called DT yesterday and they said they don't make the LTs but on Falken website it shows them.

Funny enough I'm going in the opposite direction. Swapping out my AT III's for the AT4W.
Just came out of a 2021 F150 with Toyo AT III's and just put AT4w's on my 2023 F150.

both are great tires, look, ride quality, mpg and snow performance all comparable.

I have max tow and the AT4W sidewall construction is what pulled me over another set of AT III's

added bonus on the AT4W is two sidewall designs, one has a very aggressive raised black letter and the other side is a mild raised black letter.

I didn't know this. Good info.

Thanks.
