I'd recommend the 18mm offset. Any less and I'd have to do some light trimming of the bummer valance and would expect to toss quite a bit more mud and rocks along the sides. These are already throwing enough.
Run my wildpeak at 36 cold with an empty bed. Chalk test shows good and tire shop confirmed even wear. Even a few psi helps with compliance. Keep in mind driving pressure will generally be higher than cold pressure so adjust accordingly.
I test fit the same wheels in +25 and 0 on my max tow. The +25 were a hard no go and the 0 had so little clearance that I felt it was inevitable I'd get rocks in there while wheeling through mud and gravel it gouge things up, especially with internal stick on weights.
Ended up going with KMC...
That topper tent looks pretty clever for a quickly deployable solution.
I have been using a Kelty Sideroads awning to give me covered space outside the truck to keep gear out of the rain and sun while I sleep inside. Works well and let's you have the free access to the tailgate and rear hatch...
Beautiful truck! Really dig that color with the dark accents (would look really sharp with some tint on the front windows).
Love my 157" finding many reasons to utilize the full bed. Worth the wait.
This is exactly what I am looking to do in order have an Anderson sb350 connection for rear winch and 12v bed ports for 12 accessories. I have an ecoboost so only have the 400w AC plug currently.
I may have missed where you ran the lead for winch hook up. Can you share any more about that...
Eibach front coilovers backed down from 90mm (collar to end cap) to 70mm yielding a 2" level (wanted to keep some rake when empty).
Wheels are KMC Impact 18's +18mm offset
Tires are 285/70r18 Falken Wildpeak AT4Ws.
Best combo I found to maximize tire size with an aftermarket wheel with no trim...
Got my AT4W 285/70-18's (load range C) mounted on 18x9 +18mm KMC Impact wheels with an Icon stage 5 level (set at about 2" to retain some rake). Tires are at about 36psi all around.
Initial take after about 500 miles on them.
- Fit: This tire wheel combo fit perfectly well with stock...
Following up on my test fit of the same wheels in +25 for other members reference....didn't work with the max to rear calipers. The extra inch of offset was just enough to allow the caliper to make hard contact with the wheels inner diameter along the taper. Pivoting to an 18".
How is the crash bar clearance if you turn to the closest point while the suspension is compressed?
I test fit a set of 295/70-r28s on a 18x9 +18MM offset wheel and at stock height (simulating compression with a level) I saw enough rubbing on the front crash bar to downsize to a 285.
Have a set of 285/70-r18s on order. Loved the At3w ride and handling in the wet and soggy PNW on two other rigs. Hoping these live up to their predasessors.
Are the At3w's being officially retired at this point?
Sorry to dredge this thread up but my Discount Tire just confirmed the new Falken At4W comes in a 285/70r18!
Based on my testing that's the max size I can get to clear on the front through the suspension's full range of motion with no rub on a 18x9 +18 wheel.
Thank you for capturing these! Looks tight but I went ahead and spoke with my local Discount Tire. They are getting a set of the 703's in 17's to the shop and I will stop in for a quick test fit. If all goes well then they'll mount up a set of 287/75 Wildpeaks and I'll be able to check tires...
Beautiful truck and overall build! Checking back in to see how those 285/75-R18's are treating you. Did you get a chance to wheel them off road? If so was the rubbing pretty noticeable? Any thoughts of going back to the 17s?
Test fit a 295/70-18 Wildpeak AT3W on an 18x9 +18 offset and even...
If you are still game to share a photo of the caliper clearance would you mind sharing a picture of the tire poke from the front or rear? With all the ran and crappy weather we get here in the PNW I'd like to try and keep the tires reasonably behind the fenders.
Truck looks phenomenal!
Do you have any shots or measurements showing the clearance between the rear calipers and the inner wheel surface? Looking to get an idea how close that fit is.
I have a lariat with max tow and found 18x9 at +18mm offset with a 295/70-r18 is super close to rubbing...
