I'm looking at different sizes and weight. Don't care about MPG, but don't want to lose performance with my 3.5 Ecoboost. I'm debating between Toyo Open Country R/T Trail 295/60/20 and Nitto Ridge Grapplers 295/60/20. Toyos are 62lbs and Nittos are 66lbs. Stock tires are 41 lbs, so will going with the 4lb lighter tires make much of a difference? I could always go with 285/60/20 Toyos, as they only 58lbs, but would RATHER have the larger size. Thoughts?
TFL documented the 0-60 mpg acceleration difference between stock tires and oversized tires on that Powerboost. As I recall the truck lost about 1 second of acceleration.

Four pounds will make no difference at all. But going to bigger tires, more aggressive tread, 20# heavier per wheel and/ or larger wheel sizes will absolute reduce mpg & acceleration notably.

Also, and this is just my opinion, but 295s look awful on the OEM rims. They are simply too wide and bulge unnaturally. 285s look much better while still protecting the rim.

Have had the truck all of 5days now. Black powder coated stock steel 17s with earlier chrome dog dishes…28lbs. 285 70 17 SL Ridge grapplers.. 49lbs. Went with Bilsteins to level it while it was up on the rack. Rides much better now.

Got the tires on today. Went with Toyo Open Country R/T Trails. 285/60 R20. Really like them thus far. Feels a bit heavier, but better in turns and more stable over road imperfections. Looking forward to taking it off road soon.

That's interesting, I went from factory 33s to LT34s and mine is about the same.

Factory 33s (negative slope contribution?)

Silly me, I forgot to attach photos. On a side note, the truck is Avalanche, despite the garage making it look Oxford White.
Looks good.
I like when white truck guys are like "it's not white, it's avalanche" :ROFLMAO:

Boy , gotta say these trucks look way better with bigger tires .. If you want them to look even better maybe throw on some 1.50 wheel spacers .. give yourself a little poke ..and those close to the USA won’t have issues anymore … Ran wheel spacers on my 13 for 10 yrs with lots of off-roading and never had any problems… don’t be afraid of wheel spacers .. everything the ne sayers say is bs

THanks for the pictures! 285 and 295 look best on OEMs really to fill out the wheel well and offer stability due to the E rating and towing. Truck feels completly different from the squirley pizza cutter tires.

On OEM wheels 285 and 295 really should be the way to go. They naturally give a more aggressive shape to the tire. Leave the skinny pizza cutter tires to the jeep crowd.

Finally got my 295/70/18 Mickey Thompson Baja Legends installed .. Lost about 3 mpg which ain’t great .. but it looks and feels more like a truck now .. Fox 2.0 coil overs w/ 1.5” wheel spacers and of coarse with my bad luck they rub a little backing out of the driveway just barely .. Kinda wish I’d gone with the Rousch 2.0 kit instead because they run a heavier spring than Fox .. these new Fox 2.0s are too soft IMO .. truck still has that floaty feel here and there , far better than stock but not good enough for me anyways . So might have to go to a heavier spring probably cheaper than buying a new set of coil overs ..

.... These Mickey Thompson Baja legends are pretty quite for an RT tire .. much quieter than my old Cooper St Max’s .. If they perform half as good I’ll be happy cus The ST Max are the best tire I’ve ever run , had 3 sets on my 13 screw and got well over 50 k miles per set and performed really well on and off road .. Wanted to try something a little different this time around and really these are not all that different tread wise .. almost the same …

Added the Raptor style fender flares as well …
Before … and After

Here is my '21 Limited. It has a 2.5" lift in the front, a .75" lift in the rear, 1.5" wheel spacers, painted pocket fender flares, and a new set of 285/ 55R22 WP AT4s (lovely tires btw).

The truck came out exactly how I wanted it too with the mods. Rides very nice, very functional, averaging 19mpg, has a much stronger road presence but takes up the same amount of space.

Just picked up my Avalanche 23 Powerboost a couple weeks ago that has the dark gray sport 20's on it. I still have my 19 3.5 Ecoboost in the pic as well. It has a 2.5" level (I think), 20x10 Fuels with a -18 offset and LT295/60r20 Nitto Terra Grapplers. MPG's dropped to 15.1 after the tire/wheel swap.. those LT's are like 60lbs each! So with the new truck I think I am just going to NOT level it, keep the stock wheels on and put a set of Nitto Ridge Grapplers from Discount Tires on in either a 275/60r20 or 275/65r20 on since these are the same/close to stock size and weight so my mpg's shouldn't take too much of a hit.
