Am I reading that right says fits 17-24. 23 falls in that category. Lol. And that's the part that'll replace the cardboard fx4 so called skid plate right
You are reading the same thing as me. I will let you know when mine will be in and installed (by me).

You dont get a rattle from frontof guard without being bolted in?
Hey, thanks for the info. Really appreciated it. I did this mod today on my ‘21 FX4 Sport. The 2017-20 Raptor skid plate was a “bolt-on” with nutzerts and bolts from Ford. Love the peace of mind and no more saggy diaper looking truck!
Please help me understand - this is a metal replacement for the crappy fabric undercarriage piece? Is it compatible with the Powerboost?
yep. “Bolt-on” with nutzerts and bolts.

They do sell aluminum ones that will never rust. Cost as much as you have spent. Bonus: comes with a way to get to oil plug without taking the whole thing off. Bonus 2: Anti-cat theft.
Installed the Talon on my truck today. Black powder coat. One man job with a floor jack to lift it into place. Slide it foward onto the 2 front bolts. Lift it to bring the rear up againt the rear cross member. install bolts tighten front and rear. All done.

Just moved mine to our 23 powerboost. Odd thing was no fiber shield and it's an FX4. Did they stop at some point ?

It seems totally random when they skipped it but we know they are not really required.

Hi
The skid plate finally arrived at my dealer. I just installed it. 30 minutes tops (I must admit that I have a car lift, so it makes the job easier).

Recap: I have a 2023 f150 Lariat (November 2023 built) with the FX4 trim, SuperCrew Cab, 6 1/2 foot bed and the 5.0L Coyote engin.

No obstructions during the install, some have 2 hoses in the way of one of the bolts, but I guess that this probably depends on the engine and/or Cab configuration.

2 bags of parts, one bag for the bolts and one bag for the nuts. Also need 2 x (M6 x 1.0 x 20mm bolts) plus 2 x 1/4" washers for the front part of the skid plate.

My truck did not have the felt plate under the catalytic converters. The 2 nuts were in the 2 holes though.

The prices on my bill are in Canadian $$.

Thanks great writeup. Gives me confidence it'll fit mine. Only difference with mine and your truck is Mines an stx and 5 1/2 bed. Might have to go ahead and order one

How is access to the oil drain now? I see others have ground out some space to access the bolt easier.

I will see at my first oil change if I need to either drill an access hole, grind some material off of just simply remove the skid plate. Sorry, not there yet.

$209 to pickup from my local dealer with bolts & clips. This should go nicely with the Ford Performance skid plate that should arrive tomorrow. Excited to finally have some protection underneath the truck & I like using OEM parts when I can.

Thanks to everyone that has contributed to this thread!

I used part of the diaper to make an access panel for oil change. My dealer service tech had no issues using it and putting it back on ??
