Factory catalytic converter protection

I can confirm the W716831-S439 bolts and W719490-S439 U-Nuts are the correct hardware.
Did anyone else have trouble getting the bolts to thread through the nuts?

I have bolts PN W716831-S439 and originally purchased U-Nuts PN W717461-S439.

The bolts wouldn't thread through the nuts, so I did some research and ordered the W719490-S439 U-Nuts.

They are the same. It's like the nuts are thread forming. I am concerned that it will break the nut loose from the clip if I try any harder. It will thread properly until it gets to the tip of the nut. If I try the bolt through the top of the nut, it won't thread at all. Maybe too much galvanized or zinc coating?

So I installed this today on my 21 Powerboost. The front passenger side is nearly impossible due to the coolant lines and crash bar. I unbolted about 3 of the coolant line clips and it gave me some play to where I could get the bolt in there, but could not thread it in enough by hand to get my self enough room to get a socket and wratchet on it.

I ended up just removing it all together and just have the skid plate bolted on with 3 of the large bolts and the two 8mm up front. Its penty stable.

So for those of you with a PB, I would just skip the front right side. This could have been a 30-minute job and I spent about 1.5hrs just messing with this one corner.

I bought the plate with all the bolts and nuts, a year ago and still need to install it. My F150 is a 2021 3.5L hybrid, so I'm curious if it has the same cooling hoses?
Yes mine was ripping off, so I replaced it with the metal one.

My 2024 did not come with anything covering the transmission pan or cats. I installed the Ford metal plate & oil access cover…will help with peace of mind in the event I encounter road debris. The Ford plate is certainly solid and sturdy.

Yes, you are correct - 4 is needed. The package quantity of some of those fasteners is actually 4...you'll notice that when you go to the Ford parts website.

Is there a cost-effective replacement for the FX4 front shield? It's unsightly and barely thicker than aluminum foil. I'd love to ditch it for something better that's not GI Joe/Overlander gear. Just something simple and effective.
