2023 Ford F-150 Lariat
Hello Everyone, I am entering my 8th month with my 2023 Ford F-150 Lariat Powerboost and once again finding myself regretting this purchase. After spending 3 weeks at a dealership getting a new starter, alternator, and misc exhaust pieces replaced due to screeching sounds I find myself having to schedule another service appointment because Ford clearly doesnt care about quality control or the customer. I once again am getting low battery errors less than a month after being told all issues have been fixed. FordPass App features no longer work because of these low battery issues, i cant roll up my driver window without it rolling itself down on its own, i keep getting random trailer break failure messages (WHICH THEY SAID WAS FIXED) and am just sick of the experience i am getting in a truck that has less than 5K Miles. Sorry for the long rant but after such a shitty experience i dont think i will ever purchase a Ford product again.

There’s software updates for the window bounce back. You likely haven’t gotten because of the low battery. The battery is a known issue, my 23’ has 14k on it and in starting to get the deep sleep mode as well. Putting it on a trickle charger is my current bandaid but a new non motor craft battery is what is needed. I too have the random trailer fault messages. Start with replacing the battery on your own dime and that should sort some of your problems out.

Appreciate the feedback. Truck is currently up to date with updates, but i just find it ridiculous that customers are having to spend money on new batteries because Ford uses cheap shit. Ford will definitely be paying for whatever is wrong unless they wanna get sued. Truck is brand spanking new and sure as hell its all covered under warranty

Definitely just go buy a new battery. $200 bucks, no dealership BS, and most of your issues should be in the past. I get that it’s a load, that Ford should do better, that it should be covered by warranty, but seriously just go to Wal Mart and spend $190, and let the rest drift.

My passenger side window does the bounce back after auto up…….didn't realize a software update should rectify that problem as I get OTA updates as they roll out.

Welcome to the club. I echo the new battery suggestion. You'll find it will solve a lot of your problems. Even if you have to buy it yourself, you may just save your sanity.

Oh it’s covered, but they’re going to give you another motor craft battery and you’ll be right back to square one in 12 months.
i should buy my own battery and have them compensate me for it. I never once had a problem with my Ram trucks. First ever Ford and here we are lol

i didn’t know about the update till a few days ago either, someone posted on here they got a software update, another user mentioned it started rolling out in December. The update is specifically for the window bounce back issue.

That’s great, hopefully the Ford under lords beam it to my truck soon!

You know what they say about ASSume ? there’s a VIN lookup thread here somewhere, a couple generous guys will look up your VIN to see if you’re actually up to date.

Sorry Nate.
Although I haven't experienced it really I've read so many posts that 3rd party battery resolves a ton of problems.
I agree you shouldn't have to buy something out of pocket esp so new but...
Have you ran a Carfax? I had an old Thunderbird that I T-boned a lady and the electrical was NEVER the same.
PM me your VIN and I'll check your history.

Have your dealer check your battery. Get a new main 12v replacement battery under warranty and make sure the smaller battery under the rear seat gets check and/or replaced. If you can't get the dealer to replace your battery, you may have to find a different dealer. I've seen post that some dealers just don't know how to work on these trucks. I have a 21 PB and my dealer goes out of their way to make sure I'm taken care of. They will not do software updates unless they can see error codes or see the problem first hand. Ford doesn't pay them to do updates. I guess I'm going to get the cable and FDRS soon. Good luck.

Had a 2013 F-150 with no issues for 5 years. Traded in for a 2018 F-150, no issues for 5 years, traded in for 2023 F-150 Limited. Big, big mistake!!!

2023 Limited ($80K+) truck has had way too many electrical and software gremlins!

Seems Ford is hiring software programmers based on the BS they put on their resume, NOT what the recent college grads can actually do. Ford... "OTAs are the way to get the latest software." No... OTAs are the way to fix what the incompetent Ford programmers couldn't do in the first place... write code that didn't break shit!
