So I’ve had my 21 powerboost for 2 weeks now. Love it so far! Minus the fact that it’s already been serviced….
Anyway, my FordPass app no longer was unlocking/locking/starting my vehicle. I tried different internet options with no luck. Made sure my iPhone was fully up to date(in which it is). Also, the app is currently up to date. I contacted the FordPass help chat for direction. After no luck with what I was told to try, it was deemed I had a “unresponsive modem” per the FordPass help person. Now, my truck hasn’t ran in a day and a half. So I’m not sure if that was the issue or not. So I started the truck, let it run for a few minutes and then shut it down. I tried the app again and it was now working! The FordPass help person said after 14 days of not running, the truck goes into a “deep sleep mode”. It could also be due to the truck being serviced(yet the app worked prior and after the service). Orrr it could of been due to an “intermittent power outage”.
So clearly there it is unknown to why this happened. Has anyone had this happen before? Ford doesn’t know why, maybe someone else does.

Mine did something similar. Suddenly, for about a week, no function, no updated vehicle status, nothing. Tried everything up to and including deleting and reinstalling the app. No luck. Then one day it just started working again. No problems for weeks now.

Not a clue what happened. I'm blaming UFOs.

If you want to test and troubleshoot the app, get close enough to the truck for Bluetooth connection to be possible. (yes, at least accessory power is required)

FordPass has extended capabilities if it can talk to the truck via Bluetooth. An example is the ProPowerOnboard utility in Ford Pass. If you have a Bluetooth (direct communication) connection the app can start or stop the generator mode. But it loses that functionality if the communication is via the modem. (cloud based communication)

Kinda cool if you are camping and the truck is close enough to the RV. You don't have to go outside.

Anyways, it's just a method to troubleshoot whether the truck's modem is functioning properly. I noticed that if I park my truck nose first into the barn, (a metal building) I can get a delayed notification of the doors being opened. I might not receive the notification for hours. But if I back the truck in and not park deeply into the metal building, the modem (cellular of course) appears to stay connected and my notifications for door opening is within seconds.

It makes sense because my handheld cell phone is also AT&T and experiences similar connection issues in the same building.

Amazing truck! Amazing technology. But the consumer doesn't have enough information on the screen to be made aware of what is going on sometimes. We all know what "how many bars" means and we look to verify. :)

Well the truck has the same kind of things going on but when parked we don't see anything.
