Extremely loud electrical POP followed by loud static

Think i mentioned it before....Got a real loud huge pop, followed by regular loud pops at 2 second intervals and all sorts of system messages in the screen, followed by a no-start and a ride on the back of a toe truck last summer. All they did was replace the battery and ordered a APIM, which still hasn't arrived.

Today I went to leave the office for lunch. Opened up my door and stepped inside. Before my butt hit the seat, there was an extremely loud electrical sound POP through the speakers followed by loud static. The initial pop was loud enough that I thought somehow windows had shattered, and 4 hours later my left ear is still ringing.

I hadn’t touched anything. No foot on the break, not started, not butt in the seat. I sat there for roughly 30 seconds and started the truck. Static is still coming though all speakers. Truck starts, no problem. Still static. Center screen shows normal with the audio tab. Adjusting the volume on the radio does nothing to the static. No music is playing even though audio tab shows its on. I turn off the radio, still static. Turn it back on, still static.

I powered down the truck and opened the doors. Still static. Got out, closed the doors. Got back in, static still on. So Ieft it.

Come back from lunch roughly 30 minutes later and the static has stopped. Started the truck, everything is normal. Speakers sound good, sub is still working. No issues at all. I thought for sure some speakers would have been blown.

Anyone ever experience this? Any thoughts on what it might have been?

This just happened to me last week; my ears rang for a couple of days! I was finally able to get through to a local dealership and am taking it in tomorrow. Currently it is working fine; any tips what to ask them to look for? Scared the **** out of me!!!

I would find some post that explains what happens really well screenshot it and give that to them that’s what I did

Spent all day waiting at Ford; they can’t find any issue and are sending me home. If this issue happens again I’m initiating a class action. I’m truly concerned about my hearing. My ears rang for 3 days after this happened and I don’t want to go through it again! I’ve owned so many Ford vehicles and this is such a disappointing experience!

Yes agree so today tried ford customer service very disappointing shocking how unhelpful or caring they were and I am a long time ford guy too. Dealer very helpful but hands tied due to ford. They are trying to repeat and it obviously won’t has happened 3 times in 8 mo. You would think I would have recd a personal phone call from ford by now
Unfortunately a lawyer will prob be the only way to get there attention. Shocking because this is a safety issue
My trucks been at the dealer for 10 days not planning on picking it up until this is resolved
Ford asked the dealer to ask me if I would keep driving it until it happened again and then get it in right away!! Why wouldnt they give me a truck to drive or trade so they can get there ears blasted while they wait for it to happen again! Ugh so frustrating

.......................................................Mine has had the loud pop in the speakers a few times. The speakers crackle like a camp fire, music stops working, with and without power afterwards. ..................................

Super loud, hurts your ears screech then popping from all speakers even when stereo is off.

it did reset when I pulled over the turned the engine off, but it kept going, I had to open the drivers door with the engine off to get it to stop

(This is my 4th Raptor, its a great product overall)

My turn. 22 Tremor with 2K. Youngest son and I got in the truck to go to school this morning. I hit the ignition, loud pop, and nothing but static/crackling from all speakers. I tried to shut the truck down and open the door, tried to reset Sync with power and seek forward button, but nothing stopped it. I finally pulled over to google and was about to pull fuses, disconnect the battery, and anything else I could think of. The static stopped briefly, and started back. After two times of this, it did finally stop. I was afraid to start the truck, but I did and everything was back to normal. Two hours later and my ears are still ringing. Glad I'm not the Lone Ranger on this one.

The problem is ford is not taking any action with this. You won’t believe the run around your going to get. They don’t view it as a safety issue and are of no help resolving this issue. Tried calling ford customer service wow what a joke.

System was tuned to satellite radio when it occurred. I was also wondering if a fuse was going to need to be pulled, but I found that the noise stopped when I changed it from satellite to FM radio.

Going to add my voice to FMC support and hopefully they’ll realize this is a bigger issue than they did when this post was first made.

If/when this happens in mine, and it's as painful as described, I'm rigging a circuit switch to that fuse since that fuse seems to be the most failsafe method for stopping the event.
In fact, if this issue continues to get zero reports of progress (I've read not one promising post regarding) I'm going to do the switch preventivly.

Ford got back to me saying someone will reach out but no one has and the dealership didn’t care AT ALL.

My new 2022 f150 lariat has had that same problem. The first time it stopped after almost blowing me out of the truck. I have the B&O unleashed sound system. And again 3 days ago, but this time it would not stop. Turned off the truck. Still making a static popping noise all the way to the dealership. Thay said thay had no idea and the Radio guy was off that day to bring to back in 5 days. I told them to disconnect the battery and see if that would make it stop. As this is my rolling office I could not drive around like that. After reconnecting the battery it finally stopped. Any word if there is a tsb to fix this problem yet?

I plan on putting some ear plugs In the media bin if this happens and driving directly to nearest dealership.

I.had to do just that. As it popped all the way to the dealership. Had to disconnect the battery to make it stop.
