I am in the process of buying a used F150 and it's just out of the bumper to bumper & powertrain warranty. It does come with a used Honda powertrain warranty that supposedly is honored by ford dealers (lubricated mechanical parts only, no electronics). The bumper to bumper extension of the warranty by 100K miles is about $4300. The truck has 27k miles on it so it's a low mileage truck for sure. What do you guys think? I am tending towards taking the risk myself...I plan to do my own maintenance. Plus then I can put that $$$ towards rock sliders, skid plates, and some bilsteins & 35" raptor takeoffs! Haha. How has the electronics and gizmos for your 3.5L engines and 10 speeds held up post-warranty?

These guys (above) or these guys (link), should give you a significantly better deal on the Ford PremiumCare ESP.

Are they worth it? If you never have an issue after the original warranty, then no. However, if you do have issues, then yes. The trick is knowing the future. When I asked my Magic 8 Ball if I will need one, it said YES. So of course I got one. :)

I have to say that I put an extended warranty on my 2014 for around $1,800, which was third-party. So far that policy has (unfortunately) paid out over $3K. Most was the tranny repair. So yes, extended warrany has helped me out. I put on an extended warranty (Ford) on my 2022 for insurance.

Honda care....nope
Get a quote from Granger, zeigler
You will have to get the truck surveyed by a ford dealer..usually it's 2 labor hours..
They have to indpect or sign off of whole truck
Then your warranty is active

FYI.... Headlight assembly is north of $2k.... this you have to have. Granger or Ziegler for pricing. With only 27k on the clock...should be not a big deal to get inspected.

Its called insurance and like home, auto, life or homeowners, its paid up front and for FUTURE issues. I purchased an extended warranty from Zeigler, easy, fast and good price and now have the 'peace of mind' that if something goes wrong, covered, especially on a Powerboost, the rolling computer...Cheers!

It definitely was for my 2014 F150 HDPP tow truck.

Jury is out on my 2022 PB F150. Haven't had any claims yet. Hopefully I never need to find out. And if I don't have many or any, it will still have been worth the peace of mind.

Just don't get through your dealer, unless they match Ziegler, Flood, etc.

OP, when you get the ESP be sure to include the lighting option. I forgot to do this when I first purchased the ESP from Granger in 2022, but added it a few months back and it wasn’t too expensive.

What are you cali guys doing? Was going to pull the trigger on Ziegler and it’s not offered in CA? ??

Any other options outside of ford direct?

get a friend to let you register it on a friendly state and use that address to get the warranty at a great price
then later if californium comes a knocking, register it in cali

check Flood Ford. They were cheaper than Ziegler or Granger. Bought one for my 2018: Explorer nothing yet but it's a good insurance policy. About to get one for my 23 F150. At what they cost one trip to school will probably cost that.
