I just wouldn't trust a non-Ford extended warranty, but that's me. I paid $2260 for 8/100 no ded and included first and extended rental and lights and keys, from Ford.I read all the posts in this thread, got the general idea (I just checked Anderson & Koch and they are indeed cheaper than the "main two". Problem is you can't pay with points).
I just picked up my truck three days ago. Finance guy at the dealership already prepared - and eventually sold me, just because it was easy for me to include it with the Ford finance, which I can cancel within 30 days - an ESP from EG Assurance. He said that's the company they work with. Cost me $2200 for 6 years/100K. I know it's more expensive than the others, but as I said - I like the fact that it spread over 60 months and I can cancel, and we agreed that I can think about it/do more research and I have 30 days to cancel.
And here comes the big Q:
I mentioned Flood and Ziegler to him, that they are cheaper than his plan, he said that the difference between EG and the other two is (can't remember the exact words, but I'll try to convey the his explanation):
The other two are Ford plans, owned by Ford, covered by Ford, etc.
EG Assurance is a third party.
So, for example, the dealership may tell me that 'somethng (a part; system; fill in the blank) is not covered because it broke as a result of another part that is not covered', and since Flood and Ziegler are Ford plans they will not honor the repair because of that reason.
Whereas EG not being Ford will cover it because, well - they are not Ford.
Hence why his plan is better.
In short: Since the other two plans are owned and covered by Ford and the truck is maintained in a Ford facility, it will be easier for them to come up with excuses as to what's covered and what's not, unlike a third party ESP.
So my question to you, is there any basis to this claim? Or do the Ford ESPs (Flood, Ziegler, A&K, whoever) really cover for everything?
Thank you.

$2200 for 6 years/100K for a plan that could just as easily so "no" to any repair as the Ford ESP doesn't seem right to me. What's the deductible? Does it include enhanced rental coverage, lights, or key replacement? Are you guaranteed that it'll be accepted wherever in the country you might be? What if they want you to get the repair done at some shady mechanic who will use junkyard parts that might not even be genuine Ford parts? There are just too many questions here and, IMO, the finance guy was selling you fear to make you buy his plan (which in all likelihood gives him a bigger kickback than the ESP plans).I read all the posts in this thread, got the general idea (I just checked Anderson & Koch and they are indeed cheaper than the "main two". 3rd parties like EG (that @sbi bought from) only work with the selling dealer. If you're not near your selling dealer when you need coverage, you have to deal with claims hassles unless you happen to be near another dealer who happened to have chose to partner with EG. What do you think those odds are?Not true,
A dealership is paid from whom ever you take out your warranty. They're collecting on the repair, money in their pocket.
So they aren't going to turn away any paying job..

I got a 8yr/100k $100 deductible, enhanced rental, first day rental, and key replacement for $1850 with my Ford ESP and I know wherever in the country I may be, I can go to any Ford dealer and it will be covered. With new, genuine Ford parts.
My advice - cancel and buy one from the dealers who live in the 21st century and sell 'em online.
I most likely will cancel, I just need some clarity in what he says, which is - can Ford deny coverage. The reasoning is that within the Ford original warranty, they do not cover breakdowns that was caused by a part or a system that is not covered beyond the first 12 months.$2200 for 6 years/100K for a plan that could just as easily so "no" to any repair as the Ford ESP doesn't seem right to me. I compared Flood, Zeigler, and <whatever the 3rd one isI went with Flood,
8 years
100,000 miles
Covers all lights
Free car rental if you leave the car at dealership for repairs.
And many more perks I don't remember.
I think I paid $2000-2300 max..
No deductible.
It should be posted here in a previous post I would have made when I purchased it earlier this year..
My 12 months will be up this Saturday..I most likely will cancel, I just need some clarity in what he says, which is - can Ford deny coverage. it’s assumed that dealerships with take any warranty because it’s ”paid” work… that’s not true. Some plans have limited reimbursement that is not equal to what the dealers typically charge and get paid. Not true,

Yes, the only way I would consider.I compared Flood, Zeigler, and <whatever the 3rd one isthat people talk about on here>. That given day, Zeigler was the cheapest for me, for whatever reason.
But the point remains, we both went with a genuine Ford ESP!
One of the big differences between Ford and Honda. Ford ESPs are honored at every Ford dealer in the US.it’s assumed that dealerships with take any warranty because it’s ”paid” work… that’s not true. Some plans have limited reimbursement that is not equal to what the dealers typically charge and get paid.
I had a 2019 Honda Accord with a Honda maintenance plan and warranty. My local dealer opted to not honor either plan because they said the reimbursement rates set for the plan was not worth it to them to do the work. I battled this hard… took it to Honda. They said dealers have the right to perform the work they choose and honor the warranties they choose. He told me essential it was not different than a third part warranty because of that reason.
