FYI all Ford ESP plans can be purchased online and are interest free loans you pay monthly for (no credit check).

I think it’s 1, 2, 3 years or something like that.

I wouldn’t want to add 5,000 to an interest loan while buying the truck vs just borrowing free money from Ford. Plus, if you don’t like the ESP, you just quit paying for it and they cancel it.

Unless if you're in FL... cannot buy ESP online... luckily I'm picking up from Chapman in Philly and their ESP price is the same as Flood.

Wow!

I didn’t read that part of that agreement. I’ll have to look into that soon, since I’m about to get the premium care. My powerboost is already at 26k miles :(

Good to know!! I ordered from Chapman as well but hadn't talked to them about the ESP yet had planned on getting it online, going through them will save me a step.

Guys. I can’t tell you how many time’s the dealer screwed up the Ford ESP contract.

They can’t make it cheaper unless they make your deductible higher or your coverage less.

I found that out the HARD way when they slipped a 100 dollar deductible in there, and that cost me a lot of extra money on the back end. And they can’t and won’t fix it.

I bought an 8 year 100,000 mile, zero deductible, first day rental, all lighting included, for $2130 on my Costco Citi credit card (that pays % back) from Ziegler. My totally loaded Lariat Powerboost 4x4 will be easy to resell in a few years with this transferable warranty. There is too much tech on this beast to not buy it.

I just ordered the 8yr/100k from Anderson and Koch, $100 deduct and first day rental for $1600. 4x4 KR Powerboost. They were $50 less than Flood.
Thanks for the heads up. I was just about to pull the trigger on a 8yr/100k plan from Flood and 50 bucks is a fair amount of beer and pretzels.

I'm ready to pull the trigger today on 7 year / 125K mile plan (plus 1st day & enhanced rental, lighting & keys) from Anderson & Koch and the premium maintenance for $4370 all in on my loaded Platinum PB. But I'd sure rather give my local dealer the business if he can match the price, or even come close.

They will say something like "are sure that company isn't going to do some last minute change and screw you, they are a Ford Dealer right? no idea how they are charging so little?" Same place as you I got the 8 year 100k all options (rentals, lights etc.) warranty/maintenance for $4800 even on my Raptor. Some will say the maintenance is a wash however my push back is you don't know what a maintenance visit is going to cost 3+ year from now (Heck one year from now the way things are going) so your just locking in the price now and can always get a refund

Do y'all expect to utilize this ESP and cover your initial investment? I do not have any experience w servicing/reliability of Fords or an f150.

I have a Honda that lives at the shop, the extended warranty as paid for itself.

The tech on the truck concerns me.

Let me know your thoughts.

You already said it.... the tech is a concern.
Think of it this way, Ford is counting on the product quality to hold up and the "cost of contract" to be lower than what the contracts are selling at (on average). I live in the service world (different industry) and can tell you on some contracts you win others you lose your shirt... the point is the overall revenue to cost equation results. Ford can estimate based on other products and even look at prior truck years/ parts used and forecast results... the unknown for them and us is the tech... lots of changes that can potentially cost $$$$
Make no mistake, on average Ford wins however if you know Murphy the way I do (Murphy's law) then the peace of mind is worth it

Rant over

My 2017 F150 Lariat was in the shop for about 37 days (32 at one stretch) for electrical gremlins. Turns out they had to remove the entire interior and replace the wiring harness in the cab. The ESP more than paid for itself (about 5 times). It also kept me in a loner the whole time.

I don't usually keep vehicles outside of bumper to bumper, only way I would was to have the ESP. If I don't use it all I can get refund or use it to help sell my truck later on. The ESP is transferable for a small fee and can really help you get top dollar if you sell yourself. I wanted the enhanced rental also, in case I get one that spends some time in the shop, so far all is perfect! I don't put a lot of miles on my truck so the plan was really cheap at $805.
