So next year ford's plant to produce CATL's LFP comes online, promising

Only took them 4 years to figure this out

Interesting that the battery plant comes online in a year, but they are delaying the Tenn. Blue Oval City assembly plant coming online until 2027. I guess they need those batteries elsewhere.

I'll pass. I wouldn't want a Cybertruck if they were free.

Anyone that lines up to buy anything brand new so they can be #First is an idiot. The price always goes down, and they usually work the kinks out by then.
do you apply that thought when vetting your lady friends? lol

Man, there's a lot of 2021 F150 idiots?

Those folks in line for the first ever Lightning Pro for $39.9k ended up with a really solid vehicle. The only real problem was Ford only built a handful and forced everyone that was waiting for the Bargain, was forced to step up to a much more expensive Lightning.

Like I said, it felt like betrayal to me after reserving and waiting for so long.
I had one reserved too. When the base price went up 10k I opted out. 10K buys a lot of gasoline and the depreciation on EV's is abysmal. One of my friends leased a Kia EV6 and loves it but he also has a Lincoln that he drives on any longer trips. He says the charging situation in the wild is just too risky. He doesn't think he will buy it out at the end of the lease since there will be far cheaper ones on the used car market by then. Buying used is the way to go if you want an EV. Just make sure you get the extended warranty.

A good friend at Tommy Vaughn Ford in Houston has a Lightly used 2023 Lightning (9000 miles) Lariat with an $80k window sticker is $50k. I went to Houston to look at it. Man was it a sweet truck and I almost grabbed it for my daughter in law.
But I know she's intimidated by the size of my son's F150 and judging by her parking every day when she gets home, I absolutely believe it! ???

My Ford guy has located an in transit 2025 AWD Hybrid Lariat Maverick that I will purchase instead of the Lightning. She'll still be pampered with Sync4 and Adaptive Cruise/Lane Centering, but with a far less intimidating footprint.

Ruby Red with Black Appearance Package and the 4K tow package.

I'm hoping she'll be thrilled and I will get my 2012 F150 back, and my son will get his 2016 F150 back. ??

Handsome little thing.
Wish Ford went all out with the inverter. It could be a baby Powerboost with very little effort.

Toyo is now putting a 2.4kW inverter in all of their new hybrid trucks and SUVs. Odd ford didn't at least make it an option. Though I'd much prefer it become the standard thing to do in all vehicles with HV onboard. 2.4kW provides more than most realize!

Exactly.
It should seem absurd for the Maverick Hybrid to have a power panel in the bed, yet NOT be a legit ProPower equipped truck. Such low hanging fruit to not harvest. Shame on Ford

If we are compiling a wish list I want a Raptor R for under $100k. I’d take that GMC Hummer too.

my wife's hybrid lariat maverick just went over to in production status yesterday!

But she took blue.

(and my local dealer matched granger! I showed up at the counter, told them, "I'm ordering a maverick today. If you can match this, I'll do it here." some managers huddled, and agreed without trying to nudge me up!)

now wait a minute. If that came on her maverick, how would I justify following with a powerboost for me???
