ECU module programming guide using FDRS

@Shoebox72069, I'm doing the same. I got 2 small OTA's last month - the only ones since the truck was new, early 21 truck. I have FDRS and keep checking it. So far it shows ABS, BCM & now GWM and I want to see if it goes OTA.

I havent see anything since the 1.7.1 mess but would really like to, to verify all the pluming is functional again...

Not 100% sure, but I don't think BCM updates can be done OTA.

It would appear the BCM can be updated through OTA. Attached from Fords service manual shows which modules can be updated via OTA.

Yeah we knew it could be it was a question of would it be.

The exact thing I brought up would have happened to all the powerboost I brought up. Truck dead after OTA.

All the modules can be they have done it with several.

@Big Dog Daddy @BHunted1 - thanks. I'm sure it *can* be done, whether they have done so or not, I'm not so sure, or whether they should. It's one module that can definitely brick your truck and leave it in a really bad state!

I do. there are drawbacks though.> it messes up future updates So if you install a non recognized version in your truck any future update will not come plus you may not be able to install on top of the version.

In the short term it may be nice long term it may not be. I can kinda work around anything really but its much more difficult for a end user. I have so many tools I can do anythign.

YHou just have to weigh it out. Decide what you want to do.

All the to say you would also have to send the apim to me.

Well shoot, as much as Ford sucks on updates I’d hate to screw up future ones. I’ll just continue to wait.
