Well. After reading all the success and instructions I feel like this is something I can handle. If not. You guys are awesome and willing to help. So I ordered the Mongoose and it was supposed to be delivered today, was excited to get started, but now it says for delivery tomorrow. So I wait another day. LOL. My truck already has the power up 2.3.0 so hopefully the rest will go smooth. Has anyone ran into any major issues after the 2.3.0 power up to get to the current version?

No issues and I was on 2.3.0 as well. All went smooth. I was glad I went ahead and did it instead of playing dealer roulette.

For those actively reprogramming your trucks via FDRS, you might want to monitor the NHTSA’s website for new manufacturer communications. Ford posts a variety of useful communications (SSMs, TSBs, campaigns, recalls, OTA communications) to this website and many of those communications relate to new software or correcting installation issues. Summary

Some 2021 F-150 vehicles may experience an Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) programming failure during Programmable Module Installation (PMI) and/or Software Update with the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) which states either The Module Configuration Has Failed, Would You Like To Retry? or Procedure Unsuccessful - RestoreDE0x_Range Exception Writing Configuration To Module. This may be due to the gateway module (GWM), accessory protocol interface module (APIM) and/or telematics control unit (TCU) not being at the correct software level to support an IPC software update. Perform all available software updates for the GWM, APIM and/or TCU. When these software updates are complete, continue with PMI and/or software update of the IPC.

As of this morning, there were documents relating to 11 recalls and 195 manufacturer communications for the 2021 F-150 on NHTSA’s website. As mentioned, many of these communications are software-related.

Dang, I just cleared my work calendar for Friday afternoon and was going to do my updates Friday into Saturday. I may bump that a week since I'm going to try and get it all done with a 2 day license.

Maybe they will have more updates, including the Trailer Brake recall by then.

Hello everyone, I have a question. I am planning on getting a other 2 day FDRS sub for updating my IPMA module in order to get the bed camera card working. Last time I updated things I used a nano, but after learning about some data issues from this thread, I was going to buy the recommended mongoose cable to use instead. I then realized that my old Autel scanner came with a J2534 programmer. I've tested this with Forscan and it works great, but wasn't sure if it would work with FDRS. If it does work, it would save me $500. The model of the programmer is Autel Maxiflash Elite. I've attached a photo below. Ideally I'd like to know if anyone knows if this will work before subbing to FDRS again. Thanks in advance.

jesse too? threads moves so fast i dont know how many pages back it was, but i swear it was someone else. they posted a pic and said it was enabled/added. yeah, maybe it was jesse? are there a few of them now? i'll go back and read his posts. i know there was someone else on the fb page working on it too.

i feel like this site sucks for the search feature. did you get it working about a week ago, jesse, and post a pic in here? trying to remember where i saw it. i feel like there were some subsequent posts about dialing it in/syncing with the mothership. it makes sense that it woulda been you.

Im about 100% sure it was me. There hasnt been anyone that I know of. I posted like a Imagur clip. My truck was a base XL.

I honestly doubt anyone else has added it. I can imagine people may be trying but I havent seen it anywhere.

Im always interested to know if someone else has though. Most people dont have the time to commit to thing like this as I do

And if you think about it for a moment, THAT is why this thread exists and there is now a small community of F150 owners with Motorcraft accounts.

Or put another way, it was one person's passion to work outside the F150 trim barriers by starting with an XL and....... Well, you get the idea.
I consider myself fortunate that the same person also wanted to SHARE how he went about the effort. It morphed into so much more than a build thread on a forum.
